This place is a non-profit nightmare. Noone cares about the people who come here for help. The staff are stretched to the limit with their workloads and don't seem to have the aptitude to deal with 200+ people on a daily. I DONT FEEL SAFE HERE!! Almost daily, someones cell phone, back pack or other personal items are stolen. Shoeers and restrooms are filthy and hep c/a contaminent. The food here is awful. Worse than what high school cafeterias serve and in some cases served after it's sell by date has expired. Case workers are slow and laxed... if you can get one to even meet with you. As ive been here for over a month and havent been seen yet!! Since someone stole my bag I now have to start ALL over again with getting new ID, cal fresh/ gr ebt card renewed, new clothes, hygiene products, another cell phone, contact my bank to close out my account, etc., etc. This place is a den of wolves preying on the weak and down trodden. Something better has to be out there... Please lord, let me find a place better than this one. Ive only had set-backs here and no help!!

I called on behalf of an agency and the girl that answered the phone was very inappropriate and unprofessional. She was laughing the entire time while on the phone with me and transferred my call without my knowledge, leaving me to say numerous times "hello, hello".

Very good shelter . Clean, Well maintained, Feels relatively safe but use your street smarts just the same. Can stay at least 90 days which is generous Longer if working towards a goal

Yes but you need to have a fulltime job
U have 2 get referall from hopics in broadway slauson @ 9 -4 then they will see if they have beds
To start, you need to call first. But if I were you, a more peaceful shelter would be better suited: Illumination Foundation as they have several locations, fewer people per location, and most clients are more respectful... the closest to this is in Lincoln Heights across from Lincoln Park at 2010 Lincoln Park Ave, L.A. 90031. See it on Google maps...
Call. Go to their website. Pay a visit
They'll help everyone who comes in. They also expect you to do everything that they ask. Its a 90 days program. If they see you eating, sleeping, and watching TV and your 90 days end, they'll ask you to leave on your 90th day. If you're doing everything asked and then some the 90 days are extended. They treat everyone the same way
Then make a formal complaint to the highest person in charge. Then complain and file a grievance at 811 Wilshire, and a Police report for the theft. Seek a lawyer for a pro bono case (free) to help with anything legal.
Yes they do. However, Section 8 takes often years to get into. There's more housing resources.
They've been serving for at least 13 and guessing probably 15. Its changed names (ownership) about 3 times
