This company overcharges like crazy. I pay $55 a month just in “admin fees”. I only use about $40 of actual water a month so I pay roughly $95 a month. Pretty steep water bill for 2 people living in a home. This company is only about profits.

I had a water leak it was underground, no one called from the water district. The water bill was $1800 for one month. Normal is about $65. When I called them, they said it seemed unusual that the water never stopped running. I ask could you tell that, oh yes we saw that. How about a heads up from them with a phone call to tell me that the water is running day and night.

Shut off our water and our account is current. Called and they said oh we’re doing some work in your area. I said you have our phone number why not leave us a text message? They said they had left a “door hanger” notice but we apparently didn’t get one. So no water today. Billing will continue as usual.poor customer service and poor communication with customers.

We had a substantial water line leak under a parking lot at our HOA in Mission Viejo this week, and within 5 hours of the report, SMWD dispatched a LARGE number of men and equipment, located the leak about 5' underground, excavated the area, made the repair, and got our water restored. The entire crew worked together like clockwork, and it was absolutely amazing to watch. We had about 100 condos affected, and to get our water service restored in 5 hours is almost a miracle - THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
