I came here on the 4th of March and talked to Kai about astrophotography as a whole. Kai was knowledgeable on the subject and gave me tips for a newbie getting into the hobby. I will keep this store in mind for any future purchases.

I had my 8SE telescope cleaned inside & out and collimated at Orange Co. Telescopes. Excellent job. My scope is now spotless & accurate. Both Mike and Lawrence were friendly, helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. I could not have asked for more. Thank You

I had a really great experience at this place. Kai help me out a lot in figuring out what to buy he also told me all the caveats and all the pitfalls of all the different kinds of bottles it was being very honest about the backlog of the items he told me reasonable timelines for the delivery of items if I were to order one. There were a lot of scopes on display and surprisingly in a very small space inside the store so I could actually experience the look and feel and the weight and the practicality of the telescopes. The store owners were not shy of opening the products and showing them to me. Totally worth the visit.

This store is very small, but it is the only telescope store that we found in and around the Orange county area. Now with that said the service is great. I went in there with my daughter and we let them know right up front that I had no intention of buying anything that I came with just questions and the gentleman was more than happy to help me. Fast forward several weeks later, today, and I went in there with my husband to possibly purchase a telescope for my daughter. Once again they were extremely helpful and because of their excellent customer service we ended up buying a telescope through them instead of online. If you have questions and you are just getting started this is the place to go to get all your questions answered. And their prices are a little more expensive than purchasing online but with the customer service and all those questions that you're not going to get answered online it was WELL worth the extra 50 bucks or so.

I'll be down in LA around Christmas time. I'd love to have a chance to see a Celestron Nexstar Evolution 8" in person. Do you have that in the store if I came by to check it out? What are your hours around the holidays?

Could you tell me what is the relationship is between the Power number on a set of binoculars and the mm number on a telescope

William Lammers | Aug 21, 2020
Orange County Telescope | Aug 21, 2020

To determine power on a Telescope you take the Focal Length of the Telescope and divide it by the MM of the eyepiece you are using. Telescopes are typically much more higher power
