Stopped at visitor center. The gentleman was a wealth of information. Gave us advice of unique sites to see prior to going to Sedona. A place you need to stop at

This is a special place. Amazing spot to walk around in a desert riparian environment and enjoy birds, butterflies, and history. Best place in Black Canyon City to spend a few hours.

Looking for the chamber of commerce and drove past the "visitor's center" three times. But this is both, just like the sign on the building says. Vickie was very helpful and had nice local resources. They close at 1pm, so get there early. There is a walking path behind the center that can be accessed during the center's business hours.

Hidden gem. Might not look like much from the highway but a great ecosystem, hiking trail and pond resides inside. Small, relies on donations and has a museum attached it is totally worth a stop.
