I am only giving Guisados five stars because I cannot give them six. This is some of the best Mexican food I have had in years. The food is so simple in presentation, I know, but the flavors are fantastic and I strongly suggest getting at least one mole poblano taco as a side, regardless of whatever else you order. What I really appreciate, what really impresses me, is when a place can take something simple or common, something everyone else does but stand out by doing it better than anyone else. This might sound ridiculous but Guisados tortillas are exactly like that. They're traditional masa but the texture is so much smoother, less crumbly, better for folding and holding stuff in than other corn tortillas. They're actually a joy to eat instead of just something to get the part you care about to your mouth. The service is very good and the pace of getting the food out is quick. The staff are friendly and clearly love the food as fans themselves, not just as people who work there. Talking to the guy at the register got me excited about the tacos cause he had just had his lunch and was so enthusiastic. The prices are great, portions good and it's a fun, light atmosphere. If you get the chance, eat at the fun patio out back!
