US Post Office Annex

I had a package due date 2/22/2022. It was in San Francisco on 2/16/2022. On 2/17/2022 it was 349 miles away in Southern California. And now no expected delivery date. Tracking shows it's still in Southern California. Annex not picking up the phone so I can talk to an actual person. I wouldn't care so much but It is a special harness for my blind dog. It stops him from getting hurt bumping into things.

The person who was helping me at the front was not very helpful and provided terrible customer service and gave preferential treatment of me compared to another person behind me. My package said unverifiable because it had 1 number off of my address. My house is at the end of the street and no other houses are there. I received mail that says my name and my address. My name is on the package and because the digit was 1 number off the driver decided it was undeliverable and needed to be verified. I informed of this as I got a notification that they will attempt to delivering it tomorrow. This notice is from USPS automated messaging. I wait the whole day Sat. Nothing. I told him and he told me they just ship it back if its not verified. I told him you guys never look at the name and other mail that can be associated with the street? He said no. Mind you that this guy was small chatting it up with the lady behind saying how he can go out of his way to deliver it mail for her etc. His statement saying they don’t use common sense is wrong as he himself goes out of his way to deliver mail to her. I told him I give them more credit in comparing names and addresses and he said sometimes they do it depending on your mail carrier. Okay so do you guys compare names and addresses or not? Once I gave him my tracking number he told me it was in a bin that he will not go through and look for the item for me!!! He said he will leave it for someone else to do! I was so shocked at this statement that I just said okay. He asked me if I ever worked at the post office before? I said no and he then proceeded to tell me he worked for 36 years. Okay so if you worked for 36 years, why don’t you show some customer service and go find my item? It isn’t hard. I told him its in a green package that would not be hard to spot. For him to say if I ever worked for USPS? Get real, customer service is customer service. So the delivery person could compare and know I lived on the end of the street, he showed that he could go out of his way though, he told the wrong information that they ship it back and that my information from USPS is wrong, then he would not check my mail for me, asked if I worked for the carrier, and then is letting someone else check. That dude needs to quit. Update: Just got a call from him today and was suppose to get a call from him yesterday about my package. The packaged was delivered yesterday. However his follow through on saying he would call yesterday didnt happen until today. Also he told me not to get “angry” I was anything but angry and more upset that he created my terrible customer service situation. His inability to remedy the situation or provide the customer service made the matter worse. He didn’t even apologize for his lack of empathy or customer service or even ask me if there was anything he could do better if I was “angry” or upset. He makes USPS look bad.

Over that 4 months, they have lost 2 packages, one of which was valued over 400 dollars. They are poorly staffed with poorly trained or overworked workers as there is a clear lack of communication between workers. Carriers don't know what to do with packages that are to be held at the pick up location. I was away for 1 month, put a hold on all my mail. But they tried to deliver my packages anyway While I was gone. So of course the packages were stolen (or lost in their words). The "supervisor" comes to the window with an already defensive tone and starts telling me that it's my fault for scheduling packages to be delivered while I was out of the country. And offers no help, just excuses. Then this month, 2 packages were not delivered, notes left for me to pick up my mail at the pick up location. I rescheduled delivery. Guess what? They failed to deliver on the date it scheduled (missed the date) and now they don't know where the package is. WOW. What's the point of rescheduling deliver if you're just going to lose it? I really hate this place. I've gone during my lunches to pick up things only to be told that my mail was on the delivery truck on delivery (then why give me a note telling me to pick it up or else they'll send it back to the sender?). I can go on and on about this place, but seriously, there's just too many incidents to recall. Simply put, anyone who's had problems with this place should contact the post master and the department of consumer affairs. These are the only people who may listen to your complaints.

We have filed very clear instructions for where our mail carrier should leave packages. It involves coming a short way up our driveway. Some carriers deliver according to the instructions, but there is one who refuses. He/she either leaves a card saying the package could not be delivered because the business was closed, which is ridiculous because we are a private residence or they don't even bother, just take the package back to the post office without even trying to leave it where we have requested. it is unacceptable service when we pay extra for a two day delivery and then don't get the package on time because the carrier refuses to do his or her job. I will be filing a complaint with Amazon and asking that they use more reputable delivery services.
