If you need an escape from the desert heat this is an awesome option. Lots of shady seating areas and plenty of trail options. Even for those that aren't outdoors people. The boardwalk is clean and fairly well maintained. The trails lead to amazing views and are well laid out. Make sure to bring a set of binoculars because there are sure to be colorful birds chirping in the trees and deer grazing on grasses.

Had a lot of fun here! Very accessible and easy to walk. Beautiful and inspiring nature all around!! Serenity at its best!

This place is a must see if you're in Morongo Valley. It's free and there are a few hike options to see different areas of the preserve. Just watch out! we encountered many snakes along the path

This is a gorgeous preserve! As amateur birders we were able to see many as we hiked, and the paths and trails were a pleasure to walk on. Nothing was too tricky or challenging, and the seating areas and benches were convenient and made it easy to relax for a few.

No pets in preserve, Covington Park around corner is pet friendly. Whitewater preserve allows pets on leash.
There sure is!! There's longer ones and shorter ones. Just make sure to bring water and stay hydrated!
That is a grate question I do not know but you can go to their website and call with any questions
Big Morongo is day use only but there is reservation camping in Joshua Tree Nat'l Park, about 30 miles away. There may be KOA and other RV parks in the Coachella Valley, but I'm not certain.
Water can be observed on the west side of the Marsh Trail, the spillway near the Mesquite Trail and all along the west side of the Mesquite Trail. The Marsh was dry of surface water, observable from trails, the summers of 2018 and 2019 but has steadily increased since mid October.
It is all free. Very nice wilderness trail thru wetlands if you can believe that. I saw deer and mountain goats on my first visit.
