This is the best book store in Northern California, period. Outstanding selection of books, including a huge kids section. Plenty of book related nicknacks. The staff there is wonderful. And downstairs is a great secondary store, with used and rare books. Also, authors love coming here because of the huge, passionate crowds of fans who show up.

I love this place, they have two levels with both a new book store upstairs and a rare and used book store downstairs. For a local bookseller, they stock a lot of cool stuff and offer pretty great deals on close out items. Obviously you can get your books cheaper from Amazon or whatever, but I consider places like this a way better way to shop for books, as you are supporting your local economy and you can actually peruse the books before you commit to buying them. I think in the end, shopping local, you spend less anyways, since you tend not to buy as many books you don't need, or stuff that doesn't fit your collection.

As an OG Murderino, I had to prioritize a visit to Copperfield's as advised by Karen herself. Great selection of new and used books, including some great discounts on all sorts of merchandise.
