Amtrak does not ship cars (with the exception of the autotrain to FL). There are companies who arrange this service. Look up auto shipping by rail on the web. You can also ship by tractor trailer which may be a more affordable option. Again look on the web for that option. I did a ship by truck from Indy to SFO a few years ago. I basically placed a Max cost bid out on the web and a independent driver grabbed it with 24-hours.

Amtrak does not guarantee free red cap service at the Pittsburgh station. However, when I passed through there last June a red cap did meet the train and they did also did check bags upon entry to the station. I would recommend giving Amtrak a call.

Lord Lundi Pol Yes there is a train going out west #29 goes toward Chicago. You would transfer from there. It leaves every day just before midnight.

Unfortunately there is no Amtrak ststion in Santon Texas. Its $548 to Dallas in sleeper tho.

You can park overnight in the Grant Street Transportation Center Garage. They have a website where u can reference costs. Be sure to tell the attendant that u will be leaving your car overnight so you can fill out the proper form. For a 7 am train I would get there at 6:15. If you have the option you should check the Amtrak website to check to see if your train is on time before you head to the station. Trains are often late/delayed.

You can't park overnight at the train station, you need to park across the street in the Greyhound Bus station garage.

No. Amtrak has "smoking" stops. Which are usually about 15 minutes long. Most stops are much quicker and there is no opportunity to get off the train. I don't know if there are any of these longer stops between Pittsburgh and DC. I've seen them on the long haul routes like San Francisco to Chicago.
