Site A6 was nice, and the campground was very well taken care of. It states that grey cliffs are reserved group sites, but our site was a normal tent camping site with parking for two vehicles. From our site there was a path to the creek and you could hear the stream from the campsite.

Arrived late at night in a thunderstorm. (In the Nevada desert. Go figure.) But when the sun came up the next morning, wow, just beautiful. Really nice to be in a National Park and not be overwhelmed by people. Hell, we couldn't even see the next occupied campsite from ours. (Site A1) Tragically, we had cloud cover both nights we were there, but late on the first night they parted just enough to give the clearest view of the Milky Way I've ever had. Oh, and do not miss the Lehman Caves tour. Even if you've been to Carlsbad or one of the other National Park caves, this is a totally different experience and well worth the money. For those timid souls put off by the 'NO WATER' thing, fear not: water is available at the Baker campsite right up the road. We just took a 5-gallon collapsible water jug and it worked just fine. Pro Tip: Take freeze-dried backpacking food. You can prepare it in the package and not have to wash dishes. (In addition to there being no water, there are also no dishwashing facilities.)

Good campground. The only issue is absence of water, but you can fill bottles at the Visitor Canter, only couple miles away. Cite A6 has access to the river, highly recommend during summer, you can dip/cool off beverages :)

Questions & Answers

Do you need reservations to camp and how much is it

Yes you do need to make a reservation. To stay it is usually anywhere from 10-30 dollars depending on how many people you're going with and how big of a campground it is. It is definitely worth the price because it is a lovely place.
