Awesome stop on the way to the park. They have a small exhibit room that is interactive to learn about the park. The ladies in there were super sweet and helpful. They also have a sufficiently sized gift shop on the other side with reasonable prices and cool items to purchase. Definitely enjoyed my time there.

Wasn’t able to go inside. The visitor center was only open from 1pm to 5pm on Wednesday through Saturday. On our last day we still wanted to visit here to buy souvenirs and get a passport stamp. We waited in the parking lot from noon to 1pm and were then told by a ranger that it wouldn’t open for a while because people were stuck in traffic. She did let me in shortly to get a stamp, so that was nice, but we were disappointed we couldn’t look around further and had to leave.

I always enjoy my visits to Great Basin National Park. This time I visited with the rangers a bit before heading on up Wheeler Peak. I planned to hike up to the Bristlecone Pine Grove. The views were spectacular to the Grove and beyond up to the glacier.

Beautiful and exciting! This National Park is a jewel in the midst of the Sage Brush wilderness. The views from the mountain road are spectacular! The bristlecone pines are quite unique and gorgeous. The park even has an amazing cafe that takes great pride in the delicious food they serve - the perfect place for getting lunch. We will return often! It is best to Google the park headquarters. But they cannot predict either.
