Excellent campground and the camp host was great. Kept a good camp and clean. Quiet setting and well kept. Highly recommend. Breathtaking views and a few local hikes make this a great place to camp. You can ride to the nearby Paiute Indian trail for miles and miles of riding, or drive / ride to many historical landmarks inside the Fremont Indian State Park. Highly recommend for a few days of good cheap fun and historical info ;o)

Castle Rock campground - Utah St. Pk. 6200’ Nice campground. The Interagency Senior pass does not apply. The first 10 sites before getting to the fee station are first come first served. After the flush toilets and fee, the loop is for reservations sites 11 to 24 with a 2 night limit if not reserved. A couple of Teepee sites and a few double sites. IMHO, double site 23 has the best view for setting up. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table with water faucets around the area. The view of Castle Rock is spectacular! The Ranger told me that the trailhead was 3 miles up to the peak. They have vault toilets by the trailhead. The area is dense with juniper and pinion pine and lots of rocks. The Forest Service was there clearing the hazardous trees and branches, then bucking to size for cleaning up. They busted their butts.

Camp ground host was super. Had a dead battery, he jumped me twice. Very nice people. Atv friendly. Drive in , drive out with 4 wheelers. Don't take your camper on Piute trail, some ones slipped out the back on steep hill.

Wonderful! Beautiful view made even more enjoyable by a clean campground. These people aren't exaggerating about the bathrooms - they are spotless. The hosts (Bill & his dog Bear) are delightful. I definitely recommend staying here.
