Mostly a good place for locals to go hiking among the trees or meadows. Limited flowers to view. The gift shop is adorable and the welcome center offers a pretty view. If you're a tourist I'd go if your super into a walk in the woods/meadows a short hike 3 miles max if you walk every spot

The main visitor center is extremely beautiful and modern with clean bathrooms, a plentiful cafe and a very knowledgeable and kind receptionist. The flowers were beautiful and the hiking on the trains was super easy.

This should NOT be called a botanic garden!!! By definition: A botanic garden is a garden dedicated to the collection, cultivation, preservation and display of an especially wide range of plants, which are typically labelled with their botanical names. It may contain specialist plant collections such as cacti and other succulent plants, herb gardens, plants from particular parts of the world, and so on; there may be greenhouses, shadehouses, again with special collections such as tropical plants, alpine plants, or other exotic plants. And this is not IT!! Wasted my time to drive out there and walk around “trails”, Japanese garden doesn’t have any Japanese plants, just a Japanese lantern, special exhibition doesn’t have anything at all! No special plant collections… instead, we saw some lame wooden buildings, wild flowers (that you can see anywhere, I didn’t even bother to take pictures of them since they are not worth my phone memories), some annuals, some sand for young kids to play, 2 boxes of bees. This might be good for event venue, keeping young kids busy (younger than 5), again, should not be called botanic garden… I felt deceived… Before purchasing the tickets, I asked the lady at the booth, how are the flowers in the garden? She said the pollinator flowers are in full bloom… However, she failed to mention that there are not many interesting collection of flowers…

Pittsburgh Botanic Garden is such a beautiful location full of bright greenery, flowers, and beautiful spaces. The interior of the main building is stunningly modern and a beautiful backdrop for interesting portraits. The barn and reception space are so fun and beautiful. The entire area is a wonderful backdrop for couples on their wedding day. I highly recommend! I love photographing weddings at this beautiful location.

With proper wheels yes not good with smaller wheels there are some steps but you can go other ways.
There are concerns for ticks in just about any wooded area, and I can confirm that deer do cut through the grounds - having said that, I've been there a lot and haven't found any on me. The paths are wide and most of them are well maintained - stay on the paths, you should be fine.
Amazon or a local hardware store in the outdoor section
