We had a wonderful romantic meal here years ago and tried to recreate it (knowing that lightning rarely strikes twice). But we were thrilled that Chart House was still great - maybe better. We came for happy hour - highly recommended - and stayed for dinner and a stunning sunset. Any seafood is a good choice and their wine list is interesting. Try to sit out on the patio. We love this place. Too bad we live thousands of miles away.

This was my first experience at the Chart House and it didn't disappoint. This particular location is nestled right along the bluff in Dana Point, and it's extremely popular. I would recommend reservations every time. Valet parking is the only option at the restaurant, although you can opt to find parking on the street and walk in. The area does become increasingly windy during certain times, so beware if you choose to walk a distance. The food was excellent, service was great and the cocktails were tasty. The king crab legs were perfect. Make sure to ask for pre-cracking to make it a stress-free meal. I highly recommend their key lime cheesecake for dessert (if you have room).

We had our wedding reception at Chart House last weekend, and the experience was wonderful. We received so many compliments from our guests about the breathtaking ceremony outdoor view, the food and the “service with a smile.” Melissa, our event coordinator, was amazing. She answered all of our questions and emails promptly. We really appreciate her positive attitude, great suggestions, and guidance. On the day of our wedding, we were able to just relax and enjoy the experience as Melissa and the Chart House ensured everything went smoothly. We would highly recommend Chart House to any bride and groom, or anyone searching for a venue for a special event.

In general this is a very nice and classy place. If you order off of the regular menu, it is pretty expensive. However, they have a great Happy hour where there are many appetizers that you can order for a reasonable price.

No. Only service animals are allowed in restaurants. It's generally the case all across the country due to heath codes. There are some exceptions I've seen. Even my dentist has a dog that roams around the clinic now. Times are changing.

All the employees ans patrons are wearing masks and the dining is all outdoors. Each table has a heater but I would suggest dressing warm as the ocean air can get chilly.
