If we could give no stars we would. We made an appointment for a simple Health Screening for our African Gray so we could board him while on vacation. They changed our appointment from 4:30 to 4:15 and sent several emails, text message, and a phone call confirming the change. We arrived at 4 and were put in a room. At 4:45 we still were not seen. I went to the reception desk where the receptionist was chit chatting with another client. Not about pet related issues, just chatting. No acknowledgement at all until the client pointed out that I had been waiting. I asked when we would be seen, she had no idea what was going on, found someone else who also didn't know what was going on, and we were put back in our room. 5:00 the Vet came in with no apology for the wait. Took information, then took our bird to the back. Soon after we could hear him screaming (he has never made a peep during other vet appointments). When the first Vet and Dr. Proenca returned to the room we were given a song and dance for other medical expenses. We were even told to board him at the Hospital so they could transition him off his current pellet to one she likes better. When we said we just needed his health certificate she actually said she didn't know that's why he was there! How is this not on the schedule? We finally left at 5:45! We got our certificate, but will absolutely never even drive by this place again. Avian vets are hard to find in North County, but I will gladly drive long distances to never come here again. VCA not only lost a regular Vet client but also a boarding client. The lack of attention from this visit doesn't instill confidence about their boarding facility. Please VCA, don't respond unless you are going to give us a refund for the time we wasted at your facility.

It's not easy to find a vet that can take care of a rabbit, but this location can! The staff is professional, kind, and seems genuinely delighted with every animal they check in and take care of. I would absolutely reccomend this facility to anyone looking for a rabbit vet!

VCA Acacia Animal Hospital and Pet Resort in Escondido, CA offers so many options for my pet Leo. I love the fact that they also offer a variety of health plans at different rates. Above all, the staff is so friendly and courteous. You truly feel well taken care of leaving your pet in their more than capable hands. My dog is an anxious one but they tell me he seems to do pretty well when I can't accompany him in the facility. I'm grateful for their service!

Comfortable waiting room, helpful receptionist. Relief areas for dogs outside. Professional & knowledgeable staff happy to answer questions. Nurse and Veterinary Doctor explained symptoms and possibilities related to our pet's illness. Unfortunately after x-ray & diagnosis, our pet had a degenerative terminal illness, and the only logical solution was to humanely euthenize (I decided). I deeply appreciate the patience and compassion shown by the Doctor, nurse and attending staff at Acacia. The sincerity and compassion spoke volumes to us.
