Excellent quiet campground. Fills up on the weekends and with a busy Potomac River boat ramp.

Great location for camping, kayaking and biking.

Freight trains going by on the other side of the river. Sometimes every hour. Sites are a little close together for my taste. They have a gravel area for picnic table and a fire ring. No clear area for tents. Just setup on the grass. Vault toilets were clean, and place as a whole was clean. Right next to dried up part of C&O canal, which might be good for keeping bugs down. Don't know since we went when it was chilly. Place is good for hikers and bicycle riders. Camping area is on a hill where you can look over the Potomac river. Looked like there were swimming spots in the river. Nothing formal or official. There is also a boat launch at the bottom of the hill. Heard a few small motor boats during the day. Might get busy in warmer weather months. Besides the trains it was fairly quiet.

Nice little plaace... Campsites are to close to each other... Bring your own firewood, no firewood at site. No sinks in the bathroom bring your own hand soap and water..
