This place is awful. Please do your research and keep your loved ones out of here if possible. My mother was there for 3 days before I had her ambulance rescued and out! Here are some things she mentioned: it was HOT (my sister dropped off a standing fan w/remote and she didn't receive it until the 3rd day of us nagging), windows without screens were opened and flies and mosquitoes entered the room, the Dr. who was supposed to evaluate her, never came- because of this, she was never given the porta potty she needed. She mentioned sewage water overflowing from a nearby toilet and onto hallway floors, the experience of being handled like cattle when you were weighed and staff that ignored you. They are lucky we didn't sue for negligence, my mother couldn't breathe because of liquid in her lungs. After several bell calls from her room and phone calls from me, I sent someone that would help. They knew she needed her lungs drained, they failed to come. Shores doesn't deserve even 1 star. Shame on them. My mother left but my heart breaks for the many that were left behind.

The Shores-Post Acute was Mama's home for the past 8 months. We could not have found a better, more conducive skilled nursing facility, given her circumstances. Our family is very appreciative of the care provided to Mama, and would like to THANK each and everyone who in one way or another helped her during these months. CNA's - Marilou, George and Emma who saw to her daily needs, and were always available to assist her with various things, especially ensuring that Mama's "Kleenex" was always next to her, and encouraging her to eat! Nurses - Rachel, Gigi, Dorothy, McCoy, Hygea and Genevive for taking excellent care of Mama all these months. We saw first-hand their care and compassion in treating her as a person and not just another patient on their list. For keeping us up-to-date with her condition, progress and at times decline (especially with weight), and being ever so patient with our numerous queries and requests. Therapists - Tyler, Mike, Adrian and Shannon for patiently working with Mama to regain her strength and stamina, post stroke. RNA - Carina for being very encouraging and optimistic. Mama many a time commented on Carina being "very nice!" Receptionists - Christina, Lee, Christine for always greeting me with a smile and a quick "hello" whenever I entered the facility. In spite of the nature of their work, inundated with calls, etc. they maintained a strict, yet pleasant decorum. Social worker head, Brittney, and assistant, Ali for being very helpful with Mama's discharge, facilitating that her transfer home would be smooth and stress-free. And, for or all the advice and support:) Facilities head, Ricardo, for his assistance and help with the bed. For patiently answering all my questions. Activities personnel - Lea, Debbie, Olga, Chona, Bella and Tessa for scheduling FaceTime, visits, activities, and for making The Shores festive and fun for the Holidays. Director of Nursing - Adora, I will forever be grateful for your timely intervention in ensuring Mama was not shuffled from room to room! For immediately taking to task my requests especially regarding lab. work and Mama's menu, and for the genuine help you've accorded us all this time. Administrator - Joseph, for allowing my sister who was visiting (from another country) to spend quality time with Mama (on a daily basis) at the onset of her admission to the facility. He was always available when we needed to talk to him, and was reasonable, patient and kind. Senior Administrator - Marionne, words are not enough to express the depth of our gratitude for ALL your help! Though I just really got to know you recently, you have been exceedingly kind, generous and caring. Mama would not be home now if not for your valiant efforts and help. You have demonstrated countless times by your genuine concern that you do truly care for all the patients, staff and visitors @The Shores. THANK YOU for all that you and your team do each and every day to make THE SHORES a home, away from home to many.

I give this place a 5 star rating! Not only is this such a beautiful building, but I have to give credit to such an incredible staff! They made some of the hardest times of our life so much more comforting. I want to thank you for taking such great care of my grandma!! From the excellent nursing staff to the amazing social services team that helped us with all our questions and concerns, my family and I thank you! Highly recommend.

My father is here right now. The staff is really nice and are good listeners with all my concerns. Yes this place may need a little face lift. But my concerns are with, too little staff, and patients should be changed more often. Please don't lose my fathers clothes or any one elses. Thank you for the change in the meal plan. Looks a lot better then when me and mom first brought dad in. The rehab staff are very nice and understanding to my dads needs. My family and I will continue to have dad here, but hope the staff continues to listen and make changes to make this place a better place for not only my dad but other family love ones.
