Waited on hold for an hour- which is fine I suppose since I called non emergency and there’s a lot of people in this city. But I got this number from another police station in San Diego which answered within 5 minutes so that was a bit irritating. Once I got a hold of a dispatcher, the man stopped me in the middle on me talking to ask why I was calling when I can report online my car getting broken into & a homeless encampment with now needles outside of the residential area where we are living across the street. I reiterated what he was saying to me- he repeated himself with an unfriendly approach again, by telling me I could’ve just reported it online. So I repeated what he was telling me and apologized since it clearly didn’t seem important to him whatsoever and said I’ll get to that then and he didn’t respond so I left the call. Terrible terrible service to the people living in this city. No help at all, I was simply a nuisance on this persons day.

Called to let them know of a customer at a grocery store in UTC that mentioned bringing back a hand gun and who was subsequently got kicked out of the store by employees. The dispatcher told me that's not a viable threat and hung up on me before I finished why I was actually calling in. So much for "See something, say something".

Tonight, a friend and I got stuck on Fiesta Island. The cops came by, and we waved for help since our car couldn’t move. They informed us the gates were closing, and we would be impounded. We waved them down, and were yelling to get their attention for for help. They responded back, “I see you waving your hands, and we will not help.” They proceed to come back around and mock us for being stuck. We told them we asked for help earlier, and they simple laughed and stated, “they couldn’t tow us anyways.” The police tonight failed at their jobs, and made me feel more unsafe. No help was provided in the our time of need. Instead we were left helpless, and waiting for a tow truck. Which finally thankfully showed up. Thanks for laughing at us, and failing miserably at helping the citizens of San Diego.

There was no line, very helpful, and had convenient parking meters very close by. Only payed for half an hour and was able to go in and get out with no problem. I don’t know to what these other reviewers are referring to but it was a very pleasant experience for me.

You can file a lost property report online, but it's best to work with your carrier to see if they can locate the phone via GPS, etc.
