Multi-service senior center serving breakfast and lunch to needy seniors. They have on-site social services and a health and dental clinic. There are daily activities designed to keep seniors active both physically and mentally. The staff treats the clients as family.

Only for people 62+ years old, they serve a nice free breakfast and lunch 6 days a week (M-Sat) and have a game room and TV room and free WiFi. Also, upstairs they have resources for assistance with rentals, medical and dental.

They need to have a much better way of running their program! It took until the 3rd trips there, to find out I did not qualify for some Dental Help!!!

Lovely staff but as a female I was totally harassed by male clients trying to pick me up. Stopped going there. Never mentioned it to the staff as it is a hard issue to manage because the frontal lobe shrinks with age and executive function that controls impulsive behavior of these men is going going gone!

You should have your Social Security card; Medicare and or MediCal cards / numbers along with your proof of income. Their income requirements vary, based on a sliding scale. You should join the Senior Center, as they have many free activities for seniors. You will need to attend a dental hygiene class. They do take most insurance policies and there is a wait. You need to go to the front desk and ask to speak to Karen

Call 511 and you will get a series of promps directing you to take various transportation MTS routes or go to the Oceanside Depot and ask them to help you.A ride on the Coaster is not very expensive ( Having a Transit Bus Pass is a big help). Taking the Rapid Transit (bus) is $7.00. Ask a ticket agent in a booth for help. At 511 you will get a series of prompts directing you but you want to TALK to someone, who should come on the phone or give you the transit authorities phone # and usually they are very helpful.
Low income can very. It's based on how much money you get every month from you social security check and from medical or medicare, the latter is usually only if your are disabled. It can be only a check from the state of CA MediCal program if you are disabled. It can include welfare, EBT stamps. Low income usually means that you get sometype of support check from our government, which to be blunt, is barely enough to live on.Our government has a very complex formula for categorizing one as "low income." I would call a counselor at the Senior Center for help or call Social Security and they can better answer your question. There are actually seniors who make up to 40K a year who are classified as low income. Your question is very complex. Call Social Security in Baltimore for better advice. These agencies all have toll free numbers and should be happy to give you advice. Our governments's way of calculating whether you are gualifed as low income of not is involvoes a complex formula.
