My husband and I bought a two bedroom, two bath condo at the Chateau several months ago. We love living there. First of all, everyone is so friendly. We were immediately invited to join a lovely group of people at dinner our very first evening. I’ve never been anywhere more friendly. One of the favorite amenities is the dining. We have a beautifully appointed dining room with a wonderfully accommodating staff, very talented chef and amazing food. The choices are plentiful and the food is fresh and delicious and after dinner the dessert tray is presented, oh my. The champagne Sunday Brunch is worthy of a Ritz-Carlton and it is so nice to invite friends for a relaxing afternoon and not have to deal with food prep or clean up. All the amenities you can think of are here and most are included, transportation, housekeeping, linen service, library, movie and DVD library, free WiFi and TV, fitness center, business amenities, concierge services, copies, postal services, wonderful parties, trips to concerts and other entertainment, organized resident activities, year-round pool and spa and our own dog park. It is definitely a dog friendly environment. There are many homeowners with dogs. Of course the temperate North San Diego climate is also included. The landscaping is beautiful with a reflecting pool, waterfalls and many fountains, a rose garden, arbors and a large weeping willow tree. It is walking distance to the Lake, a lovely church and some small shops. Additionally there are two lovely golf courses near by, an executive course and a regulation course, both beautiful. If there is anything missing from Chateau Lake San Marcos, I don’t know what it could be. This is retirement at its best. We are so glad we made the move.

We checked out many senior communities in North SD county, Chateau Lake SM was very different from all the others. Better location (right next to the beautiful lake), better food, better grounds, just better!
