I loved the look of the building, that's what drew me in in the first place. Upon entering I am greeted by a very friendly member of staff who clued me in on some big deals going on throughout the store. I mentioned I was kind of looking for a book, so I was pulled over to the checkout counter where two staff members worked on trying to find me the book I was seeking. While I waited I looked around and found five other books I had been meaning to pick up, and I was pleased to discover that they were part of the sale going on. While they were unable to find the book I was looking for, I still walked away very pleased to have the attempt even made, with a stack of books I am looking forward to cracking their spines. I am definitely going to come back for another stack of books in the near future.

Used to be a movie theater, adorable on the inside. Workers very friendly and helpful and got me the books I wanted. Highly recommend stopping by even just to look around on the inside for the vibes.

If I could put 0 I definitely would. I visited this store 4/11/2021 at about 5:15 PM. I had visited this location a few years back and was really looking forward to being here once again. I live a couple of hours away from San Diego. The closest Barnes & Noble to me is in Yuma AZ. My daughter, myself, and my friend that was with me during this visit enjoy visiting other Barnes & Noble locations. It seems since the moment we got there we were targeted. We were not the only people in the store. There were plenty of others. The only difference was that we looked or dressed a certain way that one of the clerks decided to stereotype us based on our race and target us. I felt very uncomfortable and after countless times of saying no I don’t need help. She calls her manager over on the headset. My friend was already uncomfortable and said she was going to pay because of how this person was being towards her and the kids. The manager then comes and ask if I need anything. I said no. I was beyond annoyed and felt like they were just hovering behind me checking for me not to steal something. I wonder where I was going to stuff the boxes I had...?I went towards register but decided that I don’t need to spend my money at a place where I am being made to feel this way. I left things on the counter I then told my child to leave the books she wanted. I have no need to tolerate it. I can aways order online without the unpleasant experience. The manager over heard as I talked to my child and then said she didn’t want me to leave unhappy after her employee then her made our experience there so unpleasant. After they made us feel unwanted! How can you fix that? I will never again visit that location. I’m sure I’m not the first person this has happened to. Just too many people decide not to speak up! I know how to read references and find books. I was a librarian many years. I’m Hispanic, dress a certain way, look a certain way but it doesn’t make it right for you to harass me and make me feel unwelcome. We had plenty of money to spend on books and personal growth items but you lost a customer’s because of this behavior! Do better! I will never visit that location again! People like that SHOULD NOT be working there! Train your employees to treat customers better instead of making them feel like criminals. Your customer service 👎🏻

My boyfriend and I went in the other day, and it was nice and cozy inside! The lighting was bright, but not sterile. Overall the feel of the store was typical of what one might expect from a bookstore, but in a nice way. The architecture is a lot of fun! As being owned by Barnes and Noble, there are a variety of books available to purchase, and it was delightful to explore the store. One of the employees was very nice, informative, and helpful. He was lovely. The other one, she made us feel so uncomfortable that we left. Unfortunately, as I struggle with anxiety, I don't really plan on going back. I don't want to run into her again.
