Straight bullying and doing anything possible to make you look bad just because they have nothing else better to do. Had my husband outside in the cold made him take off his hoodie walk multiple time shaking from being cold and the put in handcuffs and put in the car for 15 mins all because he was not under the influence. I personally think that is abuse of power and can cause someone to have PTSD or Emotional Damage. Y'ALL ARE SUPPOSED TO SERVE AND PROTECT NOT HARASS AND BULLY, just pitiful After this experience it makes me think that's the cops in Dallas were more respectful at times

I deeply appreciate the Coeur D'Alene police department for the work they do. I haven't had many great experiences with our local law enforcement but I do understand why they act how they do on calls. I personally don't have any criminal record or have ever been pulled over So I've never had to be confronted by an officer. My friends and family are mixed when it comes to liking the cda police, because of their own past with the department. I'm greatful for them, but I have had incidences where their demeanor made me scared. I don't drink or do drugs but talking to the police makes me nervous lolπ The cda police are awesome, as long as you don't have any reason to feel guilty or give them a bad attitude. Our officers are great and cute lol

What traits do we value out of our law enforcement officers? Honor, integrity, oath swearing individuals, altruistically aligned with cultivating peace keeping principles for a liberated, morally prosperous society? Or do we timidly tolerate unashamedly overt abuses by our authorities that we have trustingly assigned with prodigious power? Such contemplations came into sharp focus on the night of Saturday, August 4th, when an officer of the Coeur dβAlene Police Department illegally entered my private garage, falsely accusing me of being under the influence of drugs. For 30 minutes he put me through humiliating sobriety tests, abusively screaming at me like a drill sergeant, repeatedly threatening to arrest me. In the end, he reluctantly relented his rabid mission to add another notch in his belt for an arrest, in his greedy pursuit to become head of the DUI Task Force. For he had attempted to implicate someone that has never touched alcohol or drugs in their life. This abbreviated synopsis is intended to not only report abhorrently unacceptable behavior by a member of the Coeur dβAlene Police Department, but also to challenge the public to hold all law enforcement officers of our combined agencies to their initially sworn oaths to serve and protect the people of this community. To recognize that compromised, disparaging officials dilute the entire efficacy of our police force. Unequivocally, we should support honorable, law abiding participants, but turning a blind eye to abusive officers stains the whole law enforcement community, and ultimately, the city of Coeur dβAlene.

Throughout my teenage years I wanted to be a police officer. I've lived in Coeur d'Alene my entire life and that's what I wanted to do. But now, I'm not so sure. I'm hardly 20 years old and have had terrible experiences with the CDA police as some of them are shady and don't deserve their position. I believe I'm getting descriminated for being young and being covered in visible tattoos. For example, I was leaving my retail job and I got pulled over. I politely asked why he was pulling me over, his response "Oh, you don't know" which I said no. His words were, "How about you were going 49 in a 35." This was completely false, he then asked me how much I've had to drink, which I said none and he warned me that I "Only get one chance to be truthful" I retained my answer. He then questioned why he smelt Marijuana which I thought was funny considering I've never smoked before. I soon told him that I was recording him with my phone and he soon after let me go. I believe me having my phone is the only thing that saved me. I didn't get a ticket or anything. This is only one instance out of about 3 bad ones I've had. I've only personally met about 2 CDA police officers that were actually nice. It's really sad that we have hired these pathetic thugs who are supposed to be protecting this beautiful place and it's people.

Hi Lauren, if inside Coeur d'Alene, there is a school resource office available to you! There are assigned SROs to the middle / high schools and one SRO for the elementary schools. Stop by the school's office and ask to speak to one. I hope that helps.
If it was through facebook you need to contact them directly .
