Fantastic staff. They make sure you are comfortable and take you through your procedure step by step. I feel comfortable and in good hands with the providers. This is my second procedure and great experience both times. They make sure you are comfortable and monitor your vitals throughout your stay. The wait time in the lobby was short both times. I would recommend to my family and friends. Thank you Northwest for helping with my back pain.

Everything about the check-in process, surgery prep, and post-op was exceptionally well run and efficient. Excellent staff all the way around. And the food? Simply amazing. Besides the food being excellent, they always seemed to have something available upon request. I would highly recommend this facility for surgeries.

I had an amazing experience here! I was excited for my surgery and you can tell everyone else was excited for me too :D each member of the team working with me was friendly and made me feel so comfortable. This mindset helped me get through anesthesia with no anxiety shakes or crying. The woman in charge of making sure I was awake enough to go home was stellar! Strategically getting me to talk about things and focus on other people in the room to get my brain to wake up :) these people really knew what they were doing

Awesome experience this time at the hospital! The first time I went in back in October it didn't go so well but they proved to me they are a group of great people this time! The whole process went faster and my needs were met with urgency which I appreciate very much. They worked hard to get and keep my pain level down which is very important to me. I will always chose them as my go to hospital! Thanks guys my whole family appreciates you all so much! They can rest at ease while I'm in your care and that is a great feeling!

Hi Debbie - We perform surgery on the spine, but not the brain. So yes we offer some neurosurgery services. Dr. Dirks does currently operate here and we believe that the rooms are quite comfortable and spacious. A hospitalist does oversee your care in conjunction with a team of healthcare professionals including your specialist.

Hi Marcella - Please refer to the State of Idaho's COVID-19 estimated timelines for vaccine eligibility. As of today (01/25/21) Northwest Specialty Hospital does not have any available appointments. Once we receive an additional supply of vaccines we will post an update on our website that appointments are available to those eligible according to the governor's timeline.

Dr. Adam Duke is a gynecologic surgeon. His wife, Dr. Sarah Duke, is an ophthalmologic surgeon with the North Idaho Eye Institute. She does not currently practice at Northwest Specialty Hospital, although Dr. Adam Duke does.
We do not have an emergency room, but we do have an entire team of skilled nurses to care for our patients and medical doctors as well as surgeons who are available to answer questions and identify any post-surgical complications, which is why we have one of the best patient safety records in the country.

Yes I did. My Dr used the ifuse system and you shouldn't bear weight on it for six weeks. One night in the hospital was what he wanted. I have had both sides done and I do not have anymore pain. It's worth doing it.
Depends on the surgeon. You'll need to ask your surgeon what they prefer to use.
I would go to sacred heart in spokane or harborview in seattle for that kind of surgery.
