The staff and volunteers here were very helpful and the animals were all clearly being well taken care of. We adopted our newest family member, a kitten we've named Li'l Bird (originally Osprey, which we thought was a little too fierce for such a sweetie!) We were very impressed at their modern setup and how quickly we were able to get the paperwork handled (all digital) and some additional tests done.

I am the supervisor of an assisted living home and we got this handsome boy to be an addition to our very large family. He is settling in well and the shelter was very helpful and the people were amazing. We can not thank them enough! We love Franz so much already! How could you not love that face!

Includes thrift shop, park, and shelter. Only dogs and cats (unless fostered, I believe) No-kill Although the management is a bit rubbish (I believe they may have fixed that), they hire the sweetest employees. They truly give their animals the best treatment they can. The dog park and animal shelter is lovely, and I'm glad they're getting a bigger budget so that others see how special this place is. The animals have plenty of room as well! They have a fenced yard and decently sized "stalls" for their dogs. Employees will do everything they can to help. Around 4 years ago, after visiting every day for about a month, they knew us by name and picked out a dog special for us. We are now looking into another, given our great experience with them.

What an amazing shelter! They take excellent care of the animals, and the babies are spayed/neutered BEFORE adoption. So very important based on what I've seen in other states. You can't depend on people to take their new animal and redeem a spay/neuter certificate. Cleanest, nicest, most well maintained shelter I've seen. The staff and volunteers are the best, and the thrift shop is my favorite. I brought home the tortie in the picture.

Yup. They even bring in pets from other shelters to help them find homes.
I believe this would be a good place to check out if they didn't they would find U a good reference to another place
Hi Liz- Unfortunately we don't have a groomer on staff. We use Glenna across the street at POVS. Their number is (208) 263-2145. I hope this is helpful!
Hi Brianna, you must be 18 to work at the shelter.
Our understanding is there is no leash law other than dogs must be kept under control and can not be at large with no owner present. But I would encourage you to call the county office to clarify, just to be on the safe side.
We only have dogs and cats at our shelter. However sometimes someone will list a horse through our Home to Home program. Any animal listed on Home to Home would not be here at the shelter they would still be with their owner, in their home. https://pas.home-home.org/findapet/
Hi Meg, you can volunteer at 17. If you are interested in volunteering please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at (208)265-7297 ext 103
Hi Kloey, we are sorry to here about your loss. The best way to see what animals we have for available for adoption is to look direct at our website http://pasidaho.org/available-for-adoption/ We also have a Home to Home program that often has small dogs. These animals are not here at our shelter but still in their current homes. You would simply send a message directly to the owner with any dog you were interested in. https://pas.home-home.org/findapet/ If you have any questions feel free to call our front desk at (208)265-7297 ext.100
Hi Lula we don't have any "special" needs dogs at the moment but all of our available dogs are in need of special homes ;) to view all of our available dogs you can look at our website http://pasidaho.org/ we also have our home to home program https://pas.home-home.org/findapet/ with dogs looking for new homes.
how old do you have to be
PAS always appreciates the fees they can collect for sevices and is focused on getting pets back in their home. Collecting a fee is secondary.
That's too bad
You will have to either call the shelter or go in there. It's usually between $50 - $90. May be less or more if they are having an adoption special. Won't know till you go in and ask them.
Pregnant cats can and often are spayed at shelters. That doesn’t mean Bonner Humane Society does that. Even late term pregnant animals are spayed at shelters all the time.
