They compel taxpayer to eventually give up to resolve any issues. I have been trying to sort out an error made by them since last seven months but there is no hope. They seem to have no intention to help taxpayers.

I'm thoroughly convinced that the IRS can have 1,000,000 1 Star reviews and can get away with their impractical methods of running their operation. If this was private enterprise they would be out business. All they money we pay in taxes and you cant come up with a better solution and open more offices or hire more people ? I can't believe how impossible it is to try to speak to someone.

i was aleeady there and they told me that i have a 2013 tax penalty and i ask them if i can just settle it with some monthly payment but the worker there told me to make an appointment again to discuss about that 2013 issue but im already there and did not even bothered to fix that issue on that date.

Book appointment through phone by waiting in the call 25 minutes. And come here to office and get the token, wait here for more than 1 hours. And you never understand the token system and why both takes this much time. I hope IRS understands time of those people’s money the tax gets paid. And can do better planning..

It is not an official answer, but what happens is that there are more calls than customer service.
The IRS will never call you... That person who call you is a scam..
Call their 408 number and then there is another 844 number you need to dial. I would recommend calling the main office directly much more information throung them 1800 829 1040
After filing , I got a letter from the IRS stating they needed to verify my identity. I was advised to call the number on the letter for faster processing . I could not get my call through so I tried to make an appointment with them but they said i wasn't eligible for in person verification and I should keep calling . I went to the nearest IRS office with out appointment, I just showed up and I was turned away because I had no appointment scheduled but I stayed in the room then they told me they would see me when a slot opened up. I waited two hours. I was able to verify my identity in person. If you are willing to wait and be present in the office regardless if having scheduled an appointment , I think that is your next best option. Make sure you bring all documents they might need from you to find your tax return file. Also , what company did you use to file?
No, you have schedule an appointment at all government offices now.
