Literally was On the phone originally it says your wait time could be up to 15 minutes. Then after 25 minutes recording says its connecting me to a representative. This lasted for 12 minutes then another recording come on saying its retrying to connect me with a representative. Which it does try to however the Phone just rings and rings so I let it keep ringing expecting someone to pick up. Which never happened this lasted for 11 minutes. So I just hung up. Waste of over 1 whole hour. To not get a live person.

I have called 6 times in two days. The first two times, the line was busy, giving a loud beep repeatedly. I wonder who still uses dial-up, but anyways I called back later. The next four times, I followed the instructions to be put on hold but was told to call back later, and the line hung up. What kind of racket is this? No in person appointments, no walk in, no responses to phone calls. Shame on the Malden Office and its lazy employees who can't speak to the citizens.

The first time I called and waited 15 minutes. A man answered, he hung up after saying hello, and then I couldn't make calls. It's been three days. Do they get paid for not working? Can I go there and report them? Who is managing them?

Please. Please. Please have compassion Malden Social Security office. I have spoke to 2 different workers a few times to rectify the problem and it's still not solved. I looked further into the possible problem and we own it, people make mistakes especially when there was trama health situations. All we need to do is correct the bank name. People please take your time when completing your documents. We went to the bank and found, the bank name was not complete. Chen is great and very helpful. Hopefully she is doing well. I sure want her to answer are call. Hmmm, but lately nobody answers the phone. I agree with others that speak about wait time. And to boot some are working from home. I don't know if these reviews help as there has been no positive change. My significant other had a stroke and had to retire early and can't do the work he did for over 35 years. That in itself has been very tough to deal with. We have been trying to resolve his issue since June of last year. We are almost there, figured out what the problem is and can't make this change online and he should have a deposit tomorrow. Well. That's not going to happen or it will get rejected again from the incorrect banking institution. This is frustrating. And you can't just walk in the office for help. When we did have an appointment the guard, as we was walking in the door, closed the door on our face. We had an appointment on a frigid morning. NO, we wasn't dressed up as it's winter time and was treated like we was less than human. I did ask him why did he close the door in our face before asking if we had an appointment and his response was, I didn't close the door in your face......... We turned the other cheek. I watched my reaction to his bad action. Thank you, God, you brought me a mighty long way and I'm going to keep trusting that you will work things out for us in Jesus' name. Amen.

Yes. I was able to do so with my passport and birth certificate.
Most definitely! And it's no charge :-)
Yes. You can go in and get A benefit letter. If you have setup an account online with SSA you can print it out at home now.
I'd say call them on a weekday... they'll advice.
Yes, you change possible.
I would suggest going to your local Social Security office, & bring w/ you the following: your green card (congrats by the way!), a photo ID (drivers license/Massachusetts ID or passport), & birth certificate. Once there, you "state your business" (tell whom ever is checking/signing in people) that you want to apply for a social security card & they assist you w/ the next step to getting it. Good Luck & Best Wishes!
Social Security card & passport might be enough, but just in case l advise you to also bring a copy of your birth certificate as well w/ you too. Good luck & best wishes!
Their hours are as follows: Monday 9am-4pm Tuesday 9am-4pm Wednesday 9am-4pm Thursday 9am-4pm Friday 9am-4pm I recommend getting there early (by 8:15am) either on a Tuesday or a Thursday (less chance of waiting for long periods of time).
how do i get a ssa-1099
ALOT PEPOLE IS WAITING FOR CALL
You, can call the Malden Social Security office, to schedule an in person appointment-however, the phone lines, are busy. I, think it is better, to visit the offices, and skip the phone call. I, was seen today, when I showed up, and did not have to schedule, another appointment.
Not really because they dont ask for appointment proof at entrance
Nope, but you may have to wait in line before going inside to be seen by someone.
They are open and staffed.
Bring your work permit and a photo ID to 192 Commercial St Malden MA 02148. They might help you at the door, or they will ask you to call for an appointment. Hopefully this helps!
Jose Daniel Quiroz. You can call the social security office in your city where you live to get an appointment and ask what papers you need to bring.
You can go online to social security and make an account
You absolutely CAN do it online. go to www.ssa.gov It's a fairly simple process, and you can use the confirmation page as proof that his replacement has been ordered in the interim.
Yes just go to your local office and they will reissue to you.
Sorry to hear that you haven't receive your card yet, but honestly it can take even longer than what they tell you! My suggestion is to either: a) Call the number on that paper (usually it's towards the end of the paperwork they give you) & ask your caseworker that's assigned to your case about it; OR b) Go back to your local office w/ your ID & any paperwork you received from July 1st when you first applied, & talk to someone in person about it; OR c) Go to their website www.social security.gov & you might find your answers there as well. But truthfully, sometimes going in-person is the better option b/c then you'll get better results. I know it can be "hassle" to go in-person, but its worth it in the end. Good Luck & Best Wishes!
