A beautiful park on the water, nestled under the St. John's Bridge. Has a nice dog walk area and hosts local events such as the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival. Within walking distance of several great local eateries with various cuisines.

It's just a legendary park. The bridge makes it cinematic. But the pier is a special touch. Great train tracks. Bunnies. Carlos Chávez. It's one of those parks where if you were only able to go to one park for the rest of your life this is a serious contender.

Very nice and plan to return. Great place of photography. Easy to park and just walk around. Some people were picnicking, dogs playing, kids running around, nice open safe spots. Can even walk up to parts of the bridge. Their is some graffiti on the bridge and parts look like they need repair but was worth checking out. Their is a homeless camp but it's far enough away that all I saw were two tipped over small boats. So just stay away from that area. Easy to get too and plan to walk on top next time.

After we grabbed our lunch from Homegrown Smoker (best vegan Philly cheese steak BTW) we came here to stuff our faces. It is clean, and quiet. Trash can is located little outside, but it makes the park look cleaner. There was some wedding prep going on, I think it is safe to say it is a popular spot. Nice view depending on where you are sitting, but not all benches are in the shade. Good park overall.

Here is the text from the Portland Parks brochure: Use of self-contained barbecues that are a minimum of 6” off the ground is allowed only when you have reserved a location. The permittee is responsible for the safe disposal of the coals and/or grease off-site.
