Beautiful, large, educational collections of buildings, tools, and craftsmanship. Our party of 7 founds lots of interesting things to look at and learn about. Our youngest was 9, oldest was 44.

This was a major surprise and treat for my wife, mother-in-law and myself. We enjoyed coming here and seeing the history of this area over 5 centuries. We walked around for about 3 hours taking it all in and just submerging ourselves in the past. They have done an amazing job preserving and restoring these homes and buildings. It really gave you a sense of what life was actually like in the different time periods. If you are ever in the area or thinking about coming, this place is a must do!!! Also, say hi to Mrs. Tucker when your there.

Unexpected historical sight smack dab in the middle of town! We were shocked when we suddenly were in the parking lot. Houses are super interesting and restored to different eras. I especially loved the corner store restored to 1945; I don't often see that era represented in living history. On the day we went there were only 2 actors but they were both fabulous. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. And as people have mentioned, the gardens alone are worth the trip. The Victorian children's garden is particularly delightful.

Fantastic museum! Our kids are aged 6 & 8 and they loved it here. Plenty of houses & gardens to explore, very nice staff & plenty of parking. We fully enjoyed our time here which was just under two hours! The green house was my favorite but I cannot stress enough how well maintained and beautiful all of the grounds were!

"Discovered" in 1630 it was named the settlement "Strawbery Banke" for the wild strawberries growing along the banks. The spelling is indicative of that time period when literacy was sketchy. The name stuck, incorrect spelling and all until they renamed it Portsmouth.
I think the admission is around $20.00 . But the museum has a very good website covering all of its resources . Definitely a walk back in time . We really enjoyed our visit .
Candlelight Stroll! Ice skating, entertainment, role players and interpreters around the grounds. A bonfire too, as well as refreshments. Saturdays 5 to 9PM and Sundays 4 to 8, Dec 2 through 17.
Most of the homes were built back in the 1890s. So its very difficult for those who are in wheelchairs. The historical foundation wants to keep the house as original as possible.
The 2021 Historic House season begins Saturday, June 19. The Museum is open daily, 10 AM - 5 PM through October 17, 2021. For more information visit StrawberyBanke.org
