Happened to catch a nearby air bnb so stopped in for a quick soak and sauna. I saw photos ahead of time so I knew what to expect with the springs. Water was warm and clean but was kinda questioning the cleanliness of the rest of the place. The sauna was nice and overall it was a decent experience.

Pros: - stunning views of the mountains and a great place for watching sunsets - our beds and cabin were very clean and surprisingly comfortable. It was wonderful waking up to the sound of the birds - the hot spring water was very relaxing Cons: - My biggest gripe was the showers. The showers are completely open on one side which directly faces a cabin window. I did not feel comfortable using the showers at all. When I tried to use the showers, there were two people standing on the other side of the wire fence smoking in direct view of the showers not more than 10 feet away. A simple wall to create some privacy would be an easy fix. That doesn't however fix the fact that the two showers are not separated from one another at all though. - The facilities felt very rustic and at times half built. The bathroom walls, while very clean, had visible insulation poking through a sheet that had been hung up to cover the wall. Our cabin entrance also had large sections of rebar sticking out of the ground which were very hard to see at night. Overall, not a bad stay, but was expecting just a bit more. Also, if no one is at reception, call the phone number on your invoice to let them know you're there.

I love hot springs. And this is the best one I have visited in Montana. It has 3 different tubs-concrete in ground, large plastic (maybe ~10 people) and smaller plastic ~4-5). The plastics all have incredible views of a pond which is full of different wildlife and also the mountains. The sounds of the birds were enchanting. I sat in the tub for hours (it was midweek, early season so not crazy busy which was nice). The water is incredible and you can vary the temp with each tub’s valve which is nice. Towels provided, water and granola bars for purchase (they also sometimes have food trucks) and changing rooms. Friendly staff. Try it out! You will be hooked.

We had a relaxing time at Wild Horse Hot Springs in one of the in-ground cement tubs. Although it looked dirty and we were hesitant at first, we found it was just mineral deposits that had built up over the years. The water itself was clean and clear. It was comfortable as it was not busy so 3 of us had the tub to ourselves. We loved that you could control the water temp as needed. Also the wooden structure around each tub gave some privacy as you soaked, and the sound of the rushing water through the pipes totally drowned out other voices. This is an old, very rustic, hot springs with not much around it, so don't expect anything else. The woman who ran the place was very friendly and would come around periodically to check if we were doing ok. Being from California, she shared some of the local history with us which was great. We enjoyed our visit to Wild Horse Hot Springs and would not hesitate to come back again.

Questions & Answers

I see the recent reviews, does this mean that the place is open again? If so, do they still have the private soak rooms?

Great place- don't plan on spending more than 1-2 hours. Really, how long can you sit in a tub? Let others join your pool- be kind and courteous! Don't let your kids run all over the place! Be respectful! If you notice someone without an adult beverage, offer them one of yours!!

Are the minerals the same as the pools in Hot Springs?

Actually, they are more concentrated and healing , not to mention that they are hotter than the other hot springs. The temperature can be adjusted in your own pool if it's too warm for you. Very user friendly!

Great local place for locals don't change a thing. People that want to complain can go to Quinn's and pay high prices and soak in chemicals. Don't ruin our honey hole!!!
