Drove all the way from Colorado to try this ice cream. Did not disappoint. Yum.

I was a little disappointed in the ice cream after reading reviews like “best ice cream in Maine” and “so excited to go back.” I would rate the ice cream at about 6/10. It was good but not great and definitely not the best. It was creamy and the portions were huge, so I felt like I got my money’s worth. I would definitely go there again but this time knowing what to expect instead of having very high expectations. The atmosphere was wonderful with plenty of parking and some good seating. There was a lot of variety of flavors but they were not very interesting or unique. I was quite disappointed to learn that it was not ice cream made on that farm but shipped in. I was also a bit surprised to find that it was cash only, so I had to scramble to come up with the cash to cover our order. I had the extreme chocolate (good but the chocolate chunks in it were low quality chocolate) and pistachio (standard green, chemical-tasting pistachio but with whole pistachio nuts), and I tasted the vanilla and black raspberry, which were good. The bonus was that I could get two flavors in a small, which was only slightly bigger than a kiddie size.

As I slid the smooth, white plastic spoon carrying ice cream past my bright red lips, through my some what yellow teeth, and as it landed onto my taste buds like a 747 Boeing on a run way, I almost fainted. Thankfully a nearby polar bear caught sight of this and came to the rescue. After repeated chest compressions and almost broken ribs I woke up and realized I had just eaten a bite of the Monster Mash ice cream at Goose Rocks Dairy 🤠

My new favorite ice cream place! Although it’s 30 minutes out of the way for me, I’m so excited to come back here. I like that it’s a quiet, tucked away place and the landscape is beautiful. But the best part is their flavor selection! All these flavors I can’t get anywhere else (and I’ve gone to most in the Portland area) makes me so excited to come back and try more. Pictured: Cookie Monster on top, peanut butter Oreo (new favorite) on bottom. And this is a small!

Dairy Ice Cream is ice cream. The breakfast place is separate place.
I think mid October... But only open on the weekends. We've been there in late September, the dairy was open Friday night thru Sunday.
