Great motel very close to the ocean, bathroom where toilet is very small, so if you're a bigger person one might have a bit of a problem with that, room was ok for the price, and the location. Give them a try, they're working hard to make your stay a comfortable one

We’ve stayed here twice actually within a month. Both times across the street. The first time we didn’t see any roaches, but the smell of cigarettes was noticeable to me & the overwhelming musty/moldy smell made it hard to sleep. There’s just no ventilation in the rooms or ability to open windows. We just left our second stay, I came prepared with my scentsy warmer and lots of wax to help the smell, which sadly didn’t make a difference. It’s just very musty. My son actually spilled a little water on the floor and the paper towel we used to blot it up was black. I get it, old motels, carpet is always going to be gross. The thing that really “bugged” me was the smaller roach on the first night that I killed, and then the king of roaches this morning crawling up the wall. We are never one to complain. We stay at the cheapest and most retro places up & down the OBX, we just won’t be staying at this location again. Gave it a second go just to see if maybe the first time was a flop. I mean, if you have limited income and no other place to go, I guess stay, but it’s really not worth it. There was lots of mold growing all over the ceiling of the shower, which is likely due to the no ventilation problem. The fan wouldn’t work. My suggestions: invest a little to make it doable. Rip out that nasty carpet and put in that fake wood flooring a lot of places have these days. Invest in upgrading the broken plastic trash bins. Invest in some new towels because these are all stained. Just little things.

The motel was quite and rustic but perfect. The room was small but we soent most of our time enjoying the beach. The beach was walking distance and not crowded at all. We watched surfers and played in the waves. We will definitely go back again.
