A cool place to visit. Street parking nearby. Not that much fishing action. Fishing licence is required for adults to fish here.

Nice spot to fish. I don't know what it is but the fish love bread more than live bait!!

During the summer days this little pier/ kid beach gets absolutely crowded. If you manage to find parking and find a spot. This is an absolutely great place!

Ye the tree bro😂😂😂

Can you actually fish from this pier? Someone told me no in a FaceBook group, but maybe they didn't want anyone to know. Google labels it as a fishing spot.

Yes, you can. I just went there fishing on Aug 15th, 2020. And there were many people fishing there also. However, the dock is tiny. And social distancing wasn't enforced and nobody wore masks and they all stand next to each others in that tiny platform to fish. It gets better at night. Be aware. It is not a designated fish area, since it is a boat dock next to a swimming area. But yeah, it is free to fish there.

Can you fish with no license?

The state of California allows you to fish with no license off of public piers. Two rod limit and you must still follow the size rules regarding what you can keep. The public docks inside the harbor are different, you need a license on those. If you want to fish with no license its best to go to Balboa Pier or Newport Pier.
