Two friends and I took a road trip to Acadia National Park from Boston. Along the way, we stopped and saw Portland and the gorgeous scenery along Route 1. For lunch, we took a friend’s advice and found our way to Red’s. My two travel companions had never had a lobster roll, and the establishments line curving around the block and spilling into the parking lot promised this place was popular. Though we waited for nearly three hours, we unanimously agreed Red’s is the only choice for lobster. The classic menu leaves no room for a bad choice, and the friendly staff made the experience even better. During our wait, staff handed out umbrellas and water to keep us cool. We chatted with our line buddies about their traditions of eating Red’s every year. When we sat down with our food, Debbie, a whiz of lobster facts and charm, welcomed us to the area and made us feel at home. The lobster roll was delectable—not over cooked, on a sturdy but pillowy bun, and accompanied with butter and mayonnaise for individual dressing. Our plates quickly emptied, and the three of us carried on north bellies full and happy to know the people and food at Red’s will be a highlight of our trip for years to come. In short, it’s amazing!

Look, Yes, you're going to wait an hour + for a lobster roll. Bring a book, some water, and maybe a parasol because you will be frying in the sun, maybe some earplugs because the street traffic (passing trucks and motorcycles) is very taxing after a while. But, trust that it is worth it!! They really care about the food they make. I got a lobster roll and then inquired about the fried zucchini. It was grown by the owner, Deborah's, brother! Well that was a seller for me. I loved it and will always opt local. Got a lobster roll to go for the next day.

Where do I start? 1.25 hour waiting in line... WORTH IT! Had a lobster roll, scallops and onion rings. Let me say... I think I'm ruined for the rest of my trip. Scallops and onion rings were amazing, but the lobster roll..... Mind blown! More lobster than any other I've had and just delicious. Even had a whole tail on the roll. Had to eat more than half of it before I could pick up the roll. I'll stop now, but my memories won't!

We LOVE this place and make sure to visit when in Maine. Their lobster roll is amazing! LOTS of lobster meat piled HIGH! Had their scallops last week and WOW! They were delicious ! And their customer service is amazing! From handing out umbrellas for sun protection while in line, free samples and water! Corey escorted us to our table, checked on us several times and couldn’t have been sweeter! See y’all soon!

Right after columbus day. Best lobster roll ever!!
It would greatly be appreciated
Just get the lobster roll they give you like 2 lb of Lobster on it.
I think it was around $25, but you get SO MUCH lobster... almost the amount you would get from two whole lobsters!
Im sorry i dont work there, im sure you can call them..you definitely have to get a lobster role
They have lots of types of seafood and even for people who just want a burger or fried chicken. They also serve ice cream and blueberry cake!
I am sure for the right price they will do anything. I live in Wiscasset now and wouldn't eat there if they paid me. Sorry but they are not as good as they used to be and their price has gone way above what (I) feel their food is worth.
Our trip to coastal Maine was in mid-June last year. It was not yet prime lobster season, so the prices were higher, but it was still available. I think we chose the perfect time because the weather was beautiful, everything was open, and crowds hadn't begun yet, even if we paid a little more for the lobster rolls. Also, Red's was the best lobster roll we had among many we tried and the wait was more than worth it.
Their website says they are open from mid April to mid October.
