Before purchasing a home in the flight area we observed and listened to small plane noise. What was viewed then has dramatically changed from small cesna's or personally owned aircraft TO small business and commercial flights with Jet engines. Hearing these Jets mere hundreds of feet from our roofs in the very early morning or at late night is not what home owners are led to believe when home shopping.

To those who do not like the noise over their roofs around Johnson County executive Airport I would say that the airport has been there since the early 1940s as an auxiliary airport to the old Naval air Station located in South Olathe of 175th St. and I 35. And an airport is used for airplanes, And I suppose you should’ve checked what size aircraft were allowed based on the runway size and length. If you were told there weren’t very many flights in and out of there then I suppose you have a grievance against the person or persons who sold you the house that you now live in. Being a multi use aircraft landing and taking off airport you should really know that sometimes military jets land and takeoff there. Unlike the personal jets that takeoff and land from that airport the military jets do not have what are called hushkits, and are extremely loud.With the taxes at that airport brings in it reduces the amount of taxes you have to pay to the county and the city on your home. I would say a small price to pay for an occasional noisy airplane.

Have worked with business partners who used the convenience of this airport. Nothing fancy but that's not what people use it for anyway. It's a fun place to take young kids so that they can watch the planes and helicopters taking off and landing.
