Met my lifelong friend, Max there. Don't know what I ever did without him.
Blunt force Honesty
Buy from a breeder where your chosen pet is 100% guaranteed. At any shelter it is always a competition to pick a pet you really like and then when you do someone else has already taken it. What a disappointment. Plus, these people decide if you can have the pet or not. They let the phone ring for giggles and don’t reply to emails. Waste of time. Buy from breeders.

The staff is so friendly. I adopted my puppy and she has been a gift of joy. 5hr application process was easy. The fees are fair due to how they help other dogs. I would adopt again from the animal league

This is a wonderful facility that really cares about finding good homes for the animals. It is clean and air conditioned. We found our two wonderful doggies there that have made such a difference in our lives.

There is an owner surrender form on the website. I would fill that out and call in to see about arranging something.
You should call them, they would be more than happy to answer your questions! But puppies probably move through the system fast. So good luck! 😊
No! They never do this for space. They are a rescue and only do the best for the animals. They rely on fosters to help.
It's no-kiil and a great group of people work there
18 years old to work with the animals directly or they have Junior League for youngsters interested in volunteering as well.
The Animal League runs a clinic as well and does offer vaccines and procedures for dogs and cats!
No, just cats and dogs. But I did see some on one of the Facebook groups this week
Thank you so much for asking about donations! Find a list of our most needed items here for the shelter: https://theanimalleague.org/our-adoptables-wish-list/ The thrift shop also accepts donations: https://theanimalleague.org/thrift-shop/ Thanks so much for your support!
There is a senior to senior program.
No. You need to call Lake county animal control.
Yes this is a no kill shelter. Check their website www.theanimalleague.org
They call references. Fill out application before going. They really want to make sure for a match.
Yes you can see their precious babies, but prepare yourself to jump through fire and hoops just to adopt a precious little baby. It's been over a month since I put in an application and supplied my 3 references that they required to verify (they still have not even called my references) I have sent 2-3 different emails with no reply regarding my application and references, my mom and son have even been over there several times to see and play with the one WE were interested in. They are nice and informative until the actual adoption and then it becomes just a huge disappointment when you have your heart set on the perfect fit for your family. I have since went elsewhere to adopt and brought home a precious and sweet 2 month old full bred Chihuahua that we love so much! So someone else ended up with my $300 adoption fee instead of it going to benefit The Animal League. I am happy it didn't workout because we ended up with something much better!!! They made me feel like a criminal
I don't think they board. Look for a dog boarding faculty. Pat the dog on hwy 50 Groveland boards i believe.
Hi Mr. Morales, Thank you for looking out for this little guy! If he belongs to someone you know, please have them fill out an Owner Surrender Form on our website. If we can help, we will. If this pet is a stray, please reach out to your local municipal (county-run) shelter. This way, if the owner is looking for their lost dog, they will be able to find them. We would be happy to scan this pet for a chip for you. Hi Kim, We wanted to clarify your answer to Mr. Morales. The Animal League provides all veterinary care as well as food and supplies for our foster pets. However, pets must be legally surrendered to us, and prospective foster parents must complete an application and go through foster orientation before we can do that. Mr Morales’ case, if no owner can be found for the lost Yorkie in his care, we may be able to assist him with rehoming if we have room but please see our previous response to Mr. Morales. Thank you for your support! Sincerely, The Animal League
I would like to volunteer at the shelter. I had to put my pet down and need to help pets that don’t have a forever home
You can drop off donations at the Thrift Store during regular business hours. They have all that info on their website.
Wendy, I would check them all because I was told when I adopted a dog from them they get all kinds of dogs from all over Florida that no one ever claims. Give it a try.
Not sure what you're asking? If you're looking to surrender your pet to them, they have all that info on their website under the Resources tab.
