I love their live steam trains! I've had a Ruby #5 for several years, my first live steam locomotive, and it's a wonderful little train. What it lacks in flash and flare, it more than makes up for in clean lines, durability, and ease of use. Read the book, fuel, water, and lube, and get her on the tracks, because she's ready! Excellent starter live steam engine, a lot of fun, and very easily modified to look like/be whatever you would like. The controls aren't as fine as higher end models, but that's what keeps it so affordable. It's a strong puller and so far, just keeps running. No problems, hitches or glitches. Recently acquired their Norfolk & Western Class J #611 alcohol-fired engine plus the passenger car set, and what a marvelous beauty of a model setup! Haven't had a chance to run her too extensively due to track radius limitations, but that will be rectified. Their trains are all metal, right down to the wheels, and excluding the solid wooden bumpers on the Ruby. They're heavy, and they are ready to run right out of the box, which is wonderful! I will also add that their customer service is excellent. If you have any questions about their products or services, reach out. They're very helpful, informative, and sometimes directly dealing with them for their products will yield a far better deal than you see listed on their website or a third party vendor. There is only one thing I consider to be lacking and could but wish for and that would be if they could get their beautiful designs manufactured in the USA. Right now, all of the actual manufacturing is out of China, though it is an American company.
