Incredible site, and you'll probably be by yourself if you don't go on the weekend or if you go when it's cold. There's no running water, so bring lots of your own. There are a couple picnic benches, fire pits, and vault toilets. There are a couple nice hikes to Mcclure Beach and Tomales Point within walking distance, but don't leave any food or anything shiny unattended because it will get attacked by gulls or large mammals.

Beach very shallow, so walking in mud at anything but high tide, pit toilets were great (they have toilet paper) but running fresh water would really have been helpful. There are garbage cans for your trash. Park service wasn't giving out fire permits when we went but that didn't stop every other camper from harvesting wood and building a fire. Got very chilly at night in April. We brought a small 360 deg IR propane heater. Worked fine. Fire would have been nicer. Watch out for the raccoons. They're very bold. Take food right off the table while ur standing there...

There's no parking at the campsite. You can either park a couple miles away and walk or you can take a boat from a couple different places.
It is boat in only. No drive in access.
