The Venue at Falls Park

This is the BEST venue in the upstate of South Carolina!! It's located next to Falls Park in the heart of Greenville. It's a large venue with an outside patio, cigar patio, and two large areas inside to hold your festivities. The owner, Sandra, is an outstanding event planner and host. She has a very courteous staff on hand. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this venue for your event!!!!!

Your Big Day Planner and The Venue at Falls Park made my 50th birthday bash an incredible success!! I wanted two bands and an amazing pasta dinner for 150 guests. They took care of everything, booking the bands, lights and sound as well as perfect Christmas decorations. Everything I asked for they made happen, all my family and I had to do was show up and have a great time. The staff communicated with me very step of the way ad executed the evenings timetable flawlessly. If there was a problem I brought up, it was taken care of immediately! YBDP owner and Venue operator Sandra Godfrey was a true professional who went above and beyond to make my 50th epic. My guests were blown away by how incredible everything was. In fact I'm pretty sure we will use YBDP and The Venue at Falls Park for my Daughter's graduation party!! Highly recommend YBDP and VAFP for all occasions!!

I can not rave enough about not only the beautiful venue but also how helpful and accommodating the staff was. I literally walked in with an idea for my grandsons baby shower and they brought that idea to life. It was all the small details that really added to our experience. I gave creative freedom to Sandra and her staff and couldn’t have been more pleased with what they came up with. Communication was excellent and I was able to show up the day of the shower and walk in with no worries and just enjoy our celebration for my sons’ first child. Highly recommend this venue and will forever be grateful to the staff for their wonderful customer service and for going the extra mile to make this event so special.

OK I wanted to let at least six months pass before posting this review to try and remove as much of the emotional bias as I could. I will start by saying that we got married here in June of 2021. From a venue standpoint, this venue is absolutely beautiful and speaks for itself. We thought there was plenty of space (for 100 people) throughout the venue(upstairs and down), and all the finishes all looked very nice, and the courtyard was beautiful. If this review was purely talking about our experience in the physical space, I would give it a five out of five. However, DO NOT expect white glove service from Sandra or her team (there is a reason that this venue is priced the way it is when compared to ‘comparable’ venues in Greenville). Sandra has very poor people skills and does not leave a ton of room for brainstorming, discussing, or compromise for the bride and groom. The first time we met Sandra she talked over my wife the entire time and did not listen to any of the questions or opinions that she had. She definitely does not make this experience feel very special, it feels more like you are one of one thousand people she has to tolerate. My wife is very even tempered and does not get easily flustered and got to a point in the initial conversations of raising her voice a few times just to be heard. Additionally, you must be very very specific in what you want because words will get easily twisted to the preferences of the venue owner. For example, we wanted glass barware for our cocktail hour and for dinner. However, it was only provided for the dinner because “glass is too much of a pain if it breaks.” She also ended our reception 20 minutes early before our getaway car was even at the venue, so my bride and I were just standing in an empty venue waiting for our car to get there. When we confronted her, she just shrugged her shoulders and started breaking tables down. Like I said, the venue is beautiful, but if you were in between this venue and another that you think are equally as pretty, I would go with the other on because of how difficult Sandra is to work with. My recommendation would be if you are planning to have your wedding at Venue at falls park definitely definitely definitely get a wedding planner who interacts with Sandra so you don’t have to. Because Sandra acts like a bully in almost all aspects of the planning process and it gets exhausting having to argue for what you want at every turn. You are the paying customer; you shouldn’t have to negotiate for what you want. If you are doing your initial consultation, just notice her tendencies and mannerisms to talk over people and bulldog her way through topics. We didn't think it was that big of a deal in the beginning, but the longer things went on we realized that it was creating a lot of other problems and really tainted our experience overall.
