I am a disabled Veteran who has waited years to get housed. On top of that they advocate for helping veterans but still they don't call back, they really don't do much. I'm still waiting for there help. Useless. Filing a greivance

I have no idea why this place has 4 stars here. I came here twice asking some questions about my housing application. First time, both the receptionist and the person who came out to talk to me were super nice and polite. Second time, which was this morning 10/26/2018, the receptionist (a different one) was super rude. She misunderstood my question yet kept repeating her answer which didn't address my concern at all. Although I calmly reiterated my question, she still failed to understand and even went as far as rolling her eyes, raising her voice, and expressing that she was annoyed. I understood that she could probably be overworked and tired, but if she were to be a little bit more incompetent from the beginning she wouldn't have had to get annoyed out of her ignorance. I did not expect to be treated like or king or anything like that since we're asking for assistance, but as a grown adult, have some manner.

The place was clean and the customer service was good. What more can I say?

Are you a veteran? If not call Orange county housing in Santa Ana n tell someone your situation there. If you are a veteran or one will be living w you, you need to get ahold of VA HASH . Let me know if you cannot find #s. They are terrific there n REALLY care.
Thise are both qualifying factors. But the main requirement is that your income meets certain standards. There are income limits based on household size.. Your best bet is to call the front desk at the hud office in santa ana and ask what the income guidelines are. If you are disabled and recieving Ssi or ssdi benefits you most likely will qualify to recieve hud...
Try call 211 to see if they can refer you to someone that can help. 211 is like 411 but referral service on most anything and free good luck
You should search on Google for eviction laws in your state or perhaps talk to a lawyer. This is just a public board for people who want to ask questions about this Orange County Section 8 location. Furthermore, most people who answer questions on your will not be professionals.
Does this mean going into the office they can't help with low income housing??
A Social Worker from a local city Senior Service group, or from a hospital or nursing home could help you find and apply for housing and other services. There is help available for seniors.
There's a family center where they can take you and your kids,it's just for families very safe. Is in orange county
Good luck
That's a question you should ask section 8 directly. Find out if they have options for seniors. when you ask questions on this platform it does not go directly to the Orange county section 8 office. This is a platform made for customers to ask other customers questions. Therefore, your question may not get answered properly here.
Unfortunately sweetheart only your dcfs social worker can refer you to that program....
Sorry I don't understand what you are asking for? Do you need a waiting list? If yes you can go to the office and ask for the waiting list possibly.
they say there is help and really there is NONE!!!!!!
I was appreciative of Mercy House when they've assisted me to obtain my Section 8 voucher. As you know I told them that I was also on OCHA waiting list prior to awarding me of the tenant housing voucher. Mercy House has been so helpful in the progress of my application and grateful to them. Thank you!
Grant and St. Andrews. It's in the back of the building. However the office is closed right now due to covid.
You have to first make sure the new place accepts your voucher then call your worker and they'll give you another # to call so it can be checked out if it will pass or not. If it passes then you give your 30 day notice and give a copy to your worker of your 30 day notice.
Not gonna happen with the county... The city of Santa Ana probably can help. They also have their own Housing authority section 8
Los Angels has to approve you. If they do about a month. Check Los Angels out they are having issues with places taking section 8
When I had an RV I had to keep moving it... Some churches will let you park overnight. You should also look up safe parking locations.
Put your name one the listvapply
City of Sana Ana has their own housing assistance call them
No ma'am they will only pay for the state of California
No application at this time. You have to wait until they open up the wait list appropriately in 5 yrs.
Sue him..contact 211 or Salvation Army
I think twice- google it.
If you are already on the Orange County Housing list and move out of the county will you stay eligible when they call you?
First you need to see what county Housing is open bring your ID, birth certificates income and everyone in your house information as well meaning birth certificates and ID's and any additional income
I thought about that too. I hope not. I really hope not
No.
No you cant you submit that in writing within 15 days. But you can make it easier by emailing your worker the same info.
It's best to reach out to them and ask
You cant based just on accusations. If you think the child is in danger and you know for a fact that the adults around the child are participating in active drug use and sales call your local police department and report them child services will step in and their subsequent arrest for sales of methamphetamines will give the owner of the building just cause to give them a 30 day notice or relieve them of their responsibility to a lease. If you dont want to call the police cal the child abuse hotlines 24 hr number and report the parents that way. Nature will still take its course as child services has to investigate these kinds of allegations. They most likely will bring a police escort for this. Any questions?
Better luck if u have children ,homeless or disabled
Department of human services
The original voucher holder.
yes
Hi, go to the housing authority And ask for your workers supervisor. I have the same problem with my worker. Not with rent. She's just not a very nice person. I went today spoke to the receptionist in the office and explained that I want to talk with my workers supervisor. He called today and was very helpful.
Yep
You need to call the main number they will give you instructions for who to email.
To get the most accurate answer it may be best to Google it and do a little research.
Yes, unfortunately there is no list. You just have to talk to individual landlords. I found one that accepted me even with an eviction. Your best bet is to be completely honest and upfront so you don't waste your time or theirs. Also, large apartment complexes almost never accept someone with an eviction. Smaller apartment buildings are much more likely to work with you.
You have to have a tra submitted by this time. If you havent had an extension given to you already. You can ask your worker for one if you fear you wont be able to find a place by the expiration of your certificate. I believe they will give you at least 90 more days at that point but call your worker and verify this. Hope this helps love...
Yes..
No not until your annual review...but if you feel that the repairs are substandard you need to inform your worker so they can make sure they are done properly. Hope this helps!
From information i overheard while sitting next to the information desk the last time i was in there the waiting list is ten years long as it is with no hopes of it opening back up for several more years. Hope this helos...
The best thing to do is to call the front desk and ask
You have to call them and see if they are accepting applications before you go down there or you can do it online
