I recently took the Quilting Bootcamp class - wonderful experience starting with shopping for the material! The class was informative and so much fun. Everyone at the store is extremely helpful and friendly and goes the extra mile. I feel like I have not only learned the basics of quilting, but discovered a wonderful community I am becoming a part of. So great to have such a wonderful creative, spirited place close to home! Adding pictures of my first two pieces I made during the class and following right after.

For what purpose? Certain brands are better for some applications than others. The wool applique folks love the Kai scissors, the Fiskars shears with the springs are excellent for garment sewing and anytime you need to cut a large amount of fabric, and a lot of quilters really like the Tula Pink Hardware. We are also carrying Mary Kay Buckley's "Perfect Scissors," but they're new and I don't know anything about them yet. They have very large hand grips, so I would think they would be better for applique and such, rather than something like garment sewing, where you are cutting your fabric out on a hard surface like a table. The only ones currently on our website are the Tula Pink Hardware items: https://stitchinpost.com/notions/cutters
Hi Becky-- I'm sorry, we don't generally order kits from other sources--we prefer to make them ourselves. At this time, we have no plans to do a kit for Third Weekend in October, but you can pre order it from Liza Lucy's website, Glorious Color: https://www.gloriouscolor.com/store.php?cat=868 Paige
Please go to https://quiltersaffair.com/ and sign up for the newsletter. We will be sending out the preview of the classes this Saturday, but registration won't begin until the second week in January.
Hi, We require all customers and staff to wear face masks. We clean thoroughly every evening and throughout the day. We also have hand sanitizer available in multiple areas and face screens at check out. We're monitoring Oregon state guidelines, adapting and following them as they change. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for asking.
Typically in January with list of classes going out in December...I recommend signing up for email lists and/ or checking the Sisters outdoor quilt show website as well for updates
We charge $2.25 for fat quarters of solid fabrics like Kona cottons, all other fat quarters (prints, flannel, batiks) are $3.50. Specialty fabrics like felted wool and raw silk (when we can get it) cost more.
You can always stop in and ask for advice!
Hi Sue-- I'm not seeing any kits on the floor, but we did get the fabric back in. You can find it here: https://stitchinpost.com/fabric/maywood-studio/quilters-road-trip
