Only worked with them for a month and it was horrible. We had already put in 30 days with the last property management the owners were working with and when they changed it to northwoods we had to fight tooth and nail to make sure we didn't have to pay for an extra month of rent in a place we weren't going to stay. Once we left we had forgotten to check one drawer in the kitchen and the next day we called to try and see if we could go back in to get our things that were very important to us. Things handed down from our grandparents. Didn't call us back and a week later we called again to see someone would answer us only to be told everything in the drawer had been thrown out... Valuable things.... Not only in a sentimental way but also worth a great deal of money. The people working at northwoods were so cold about it and honestly didn't want to help or even reach out the the owners about getting those things back. This is a heartless property management place who literally don't care about the renters. Only care about the money.... Glad I never have to deal with them again.

Do NOT rent from this company!! There were red flags from the beginning and they ended up taking half of our very large deposit when we moved out after a year. The year was hassle after hassle with the house. A few examples: Mold in the bathroom walls with terrible mustiness, mold growing constantly on the bathroom ceilings no matter how much I tried to kill it and the repair guy’s solution was to “leave the vent fan on all the time” when clearly it wasn’t working correctly. The flapper on the toilet broke causing the toilet to run all the time and when the guy came to fix it he ended up making it worse. When he came back to fix it again it was still not working correctly so we just avoiding using that toilet. We had mice and when we provided them the list of repairs recommended by the pest control company (that we paid for since they don’t provide that) the repair guy came and said everything looked fine. The dryer vent was routed straight up to the roof, a code violation, causing our dryer to break multiple times but they decided it was too much of a hassle to fix it. They never performed regular home maintenance like cleaning the gutters despite me reminding them. They just said it was scheduled but it never happened. They had people come work on the outside of the house and never even informed us it would happen. Then when we were finally able to buy a house and get out of there they decided to take half our large deposit for “painting”, “carpet cleaning”, “cleaning” and “yard work”. We left the house in better condition than we found it, I spent a day deep cleaning everything. We planted grass seed and made sure the yard looked better than we found it. We have never had an issue getting our deposit back anywhere else we’ve rented. We are good renters who pay on time and take care of our property but they don’t care about that. And we still live nearby so I’ve seen with my own eyes the “cleaning” they didn’t do. The place looked identical to how we left it when the new renters moved in. Renter BEWARE!

I rented with Northwoods for slightly over a year and overall had a great experience with them. The application and processing for my apartment was great, Angie was very quick to process my app and get me into my rental. Candy was great on responding immediately to maintenance requests letting me know she received it. My only SLIGHTLY negative experience was how long it took maintenance to schedule to come out, but nothing was emergency, so it worked out just fine. Bobby was great every time I called with a question - very kind. warm hearted, and answered all of my questions, even went above and beyond in getting some my questions answered. If I ever need a rental again I will first check with Northwoods as I really loved working with these ladies mentioned above, and the staff over all. I've even recommended them to homeowners looking for a property management company to work with. Thanks Northwoods! Appreciate your kindness, professionalism, and hard work! :)
