Library Website says there's walk up available, but suggests calling. Tried to call, only option for passport info was speak to the operator. Tried operator, system said none available. Drove an hour and 15 minutes to get there, including using toll road to get there faster, which will require going online to pay tolls, and fees, since I don't generally use the tollway and don't have a pass. Also bought cashier's check payable to Chula Vista for processing. When I get there, attendant says they haven't done walk up all year. That's sufficient time to update website.

Walked in without appointment and was still helped. Customer service was great and got our paperwork done. Bring your own checks or money orders and they can take the picture for you there.

Operation hours is 11-4pm, I came in at 1:30 pm and was told that can't take any more walk-ins. The Branch Manager states that she can change the cut of time to for accept walkins anytime. Not acceptable... NO STAR please...

Renewal
A passport normally takes between 2 to 6 weeks to arrive in your mailbox. Keep in mind it will not be with the original documents that you send showing proof of citizenship. Those documents you turn in as proof of citizenship will be mailed separately. That could also take up between 2 to 6 weeks.
What documents do I need to submit to renew my expired passport ?
You don't even need a document. Just respond correctly the officer's questions about your identity.
You do not need an appt but it is the only way you are guaranteed to be seen. Walk-ins are first come first served. We pull the walk-in list when we reach capacity for the day. Saturday is usually our busiest day.

Sell money orders
Two money orders or 2 checks. A photo for passport (sav-on, rite aid or walgreens) and the expired document or birth certificate or citizenship (USA) and have completed the form for the passport.
