I love this library... It's really nice..it has a great view to the park, vast selection of books, the children's area is beautiful with it's little trolley were the computers are. I did an internship a while ago in this area with my wonderful supervisor Debby. Unfortunately, some of it's areas are still closed. The section to get passports is open. Most of the staff is very nice. The parking gas always spaces to park.

I haven't been here in a long time they change the food really you no longer allowed to eat or drink anything in that library it's probably because of a sloppy piggy infused to clean up their messes they left on the floor and all of the tables. But it's still a really nice library to go to they recently added a porch to the library.

This library is on life support. It would be nice to see the city put some of the tax dollars here. The amount of taxes we pay in California and to see libraries like this is heartbreaking. Not a quiet place to read, study. Screaming babies everywhere made me feel like I was in a daycare.

The staff is very friendly and very patient. My family and I arrived to complete the passport process per our appointment times. There was one woman who arrived 15 minutes past her appointment time and seemed to expect to jump ahead of everyone else who arrived on-time. The supervisor calmly and professionally advised the woman she arrived late and would either have to reschedule or wait until all appointments cleared for further assistance. The woman eventually stormed off, and the supervisor kindly continued to assist my family and I. Several customers appeared to take out their frustrations on the staff, but it appeared such customers failed to prepare for their appointment or review all passport requirements on the library website. When completing the process, arrive early. Have checks or money orders ready and all documents available including ID's to avoid wasting anyone's time including yours. The process may take a little longer than 15 minutes, but the staff work diligently to get the process completed in a timely manner.

I don't know about the study room, but the library card is free with ID and proof of residency.
Yes
If you have a valid up to date Library card check out is fast and easy. The librarians are helpful & will help you find your books
No
I would contact them directly.
Need to make a appointment and have the birth certificate and a ID
They are open to check out and even sit inside, but they recently started requiring masks for everyone, vaccinated or not.
Hello. Unfortunately, we simply have no way of determining if you can get processed for passports without appointments. Each day is unpredictable in terms of availability for walk-ins. Some days we are able to accommodate those without appointments, and some days we simply cannot. You will simply have to take a chance and see if walk-ins are available for your family on whichever day you choose to come in.
Hello. Unfortunately we will not be hosting any tax preparation services at any of our library locations this year. We invite you to go to MyFreeTaxes.org for information about help with tax preparation.
No. They've been closed since March. Someone is outside only for passport services.
I believe they do. Should there be none available when you arrive you can put your name on a list to reserve the time. Definitely call ahead to find out, and I also believe you may only make a reservation in person with a library card. Best of luck in your studies!
Sorry, but they won't be open.
Yes, they will.
Yes you need a library card or computer user card. Both are free if it's your first time at the library.
Go to the accounts desk with a photo ID with valid address and who ever is working the desk will gladly assist you.

It is not part of either system. Chula Vista has their own system which includes three branches. Otay Ranch Branch, Civic Center Branch, and South branch. You must have a Chula Vista library card to check items out at these branches.
