Location and quality of the hotel was good. But service was not much. I requested early check-in and I do understand due to large events, rooms were not available but font desk staff communicated not just me but to all others like is customers' fault asking for early check-in. Very disappointed staff training on customer service. It damages the band value of The Westine.

Most important to me, the room was clean! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room key is required to access the different floors, nice for security purposes. The hotel is located right on the water. I did not have a water view, but did look shops across the street. I would definitely recommend.

The manager at this location has taken to ILLEGALLY pre-charging guests credit cards for stays prior to the stay. This is not disclosed to the guests and the charges are not authorized by the credit card holder. This is done because a large portion of the clientelle are Black families and this is agaist the rate regulations of the policy that guests sign up for when they check-in. When I discovered this upon check-out and asked that it be removed because I was using different forms of payment to check-out they said that this was a policy that the manager had decided to enact a week earlier and only he could remove it but he only works Mon-Fri (this was Sunday). As a longtime Marriot platinum member I was appaled. I filed a report with Marriott and the BBB about this illegal practice. They showed no remorse, sent no documentation where I ever agreed to have them pre-charge this card or acknowledment that this ever disclosed this to me. After dealing with a very RUDE and unhelpful Marriott customer services Bonvoy representative Sharon Stanford, who must be what is left after the mass Hospitality exodus during the pandemic they gave the rudest most inconsiderate customer service I have ever experience. Had to file with my credit card company to have the charges removed. In addition to these shady ethical practices the hotel is MASSIVELY OVERPRICED. These are very basic rooms going for over $200 a night. Avoid at all costs! The MGM in te area is much nicer

I would not recommend staying here. The staff treated us like they were doing us a favor and yet they don’t offer anything here. The pool is closed. The valet is a joke but charges $49 a day. There is no hospitality or warmth here. The bar is supposed to close at 11, but they turned us away at 10:40. We then called and asked the front desk for a bottle opener and the rude staff person was obnoxious, arrogant, off putting and refused to help us out. Instead he hung the phone up on us. Never got the bottle opener. Never got an apology for the awful service. The GM was apparently on site and was made aware of our concerns and never once reached out. Don’t stay here. People wonder why robots are replacing them. This stay would have been better if they had robots serving us.
