Lake Tawakoni State Park

It’s a great park itself, BUT you barely can swim in the lake!! It’s better if you bring your boat with you, so you can get to the middle of the lake to enjoy the water. The shoreline at the swimming area is muddy and slippery and swimming area that is bordered with buoys is shallow (chest level max). The water smells like mould. Definitely, it’s not what we expected to see

Close to nature and far from the city. We got lucky to see white tailed 🦌 in the morning. Will definitely visit this place again. If there is a hose pipe in the rest room to clean the sand it would be better.

Small state park but it was very spacious rv parking/ camping! The trails were super nice with Plaques telling you about trees and the huge spider web they found in I believe 2007! They had a beach area that was super nice to! The wildlife came very close but we’re so calm to!

Not one of our most favorite parks to visit, but I understand maintenance & volunteers are low right now. We did see several deer on the trails we took as well as through the campsites. It wasn't as memorable as other ones have been, but I hear it's more popular with fishing than other activities.
