Would NOT go here. Staff is not helpful and won’t even entertain your problems. After 3 days of getting the run around, I finally pulled a “Karin” let me talk to your manager style and was given the same answer. It wouldn’t be that big of a deal if it wasn’t for the fact that the one civilian told me that I just needed one piece to my documents and then still denies it the next day. I told myself that I never want to model their customer service and I hope that this never happens to anyone that is actually important. Stick with navy.

I went to this DEERS office this morning, May 20, 2020. The reason for my visit was to ensure that I was in the DEERS system, as I had been told last week at the 32nd St ID and Decal office, that I was not in the system. Upon approaching the desk, the man behind it say, "Sir, you need to wear this type of mask", indicating that my mask was not the proper one. I apoligized for the error and began to ask my question of eligilbilty. I mentioned that I went to 32nd St last week for a DBIDS card, when he abrubtly interrupted me with , "Sir, we don't the DBIDS cards here, that's the other desk." I told him that was NOT my question. I then asked him if he could check my DEERS status. He then took my retired military ID card and gave it to another employee. Then he gave me back the card with NO comment! I had to ask him, "Am I enrolled in DEERS?" He had turned away from me by this point and then turns around and says, "Yes, you are enrolled" in a very scarcastic tone! The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I haved EVER experienced at ANY military installation in San Diego, by far!If I could give them negative stars, i would! Do yourself a favor, go to ANOTHER DEERS Office because the one at MCRD is TERRIBLE!

Short, stout lady at the front desk was extremely rude. If you've ever been here you know who I'm talking about. First told me that my police report needed to be original and that it didn't have the right information. It did, she just didn't bother looking. They still let me in after because she had no idea what she was talking about. Seemed like she just wanted to go home. The supervisor, Ernesto was extremely nice though. He's the only reason this review is two stars.
