Picture perfect, quiet family park with unbelievable views. Beautiful campsites right on the lake (or river). Campsites & grounds are extremely well maintained have ample space between each site and they’re all paved & level with shade trees perfect for hammocks!! North Fork Campground had lots of open fields, playground, firewood available and donation based & area is well patrolled by State Park employees.

Buffalo bill state park is a hidden gem for sure. Clean, ample space for rv and tent sites. Vault toilets, but clean. The only downside is the coin operated showers at $1/ 3 mins which is not only pricey but a little unnecessary since you’re paying upwards of $40/night+ for camping…but I understand since it’s near Yellowstone.

We came here in early august last year, and it was okay. The water was turned off in the area we stayed in, and the showers were pay showers, which was quite annoying. The reservoir was nice to swim in.

Epic views! The evening is very windy! If you like you awning or quick shade put them away before you eat dinner. Clean clean clean. No luck fishing from shore or from boat but as always it was fun trying!

We had lots of mule deer most nights and a moose once. The hosts were very helpful.
Camping prices for electric are $25/night and I believe the non electric are $15/night.
14 days, but then you can move to a different sight for another 14 days.
We went tent camping here last summer. The views are amazing. It's "canyonesque", so there's considerable wind in the mornings and evenings. I'm not sure about when the park opens for the season, but I recall the gates being open the whole time. We took a day trip to Cody, and checked out Buffalo Bill Dam on the way...didn't have any trouble getting in or out of the areas whether it was early morning or late at night. There are some rules about "quiet hours", but other than that, it was pretty free range. There is a caretaker on site at North Fork, but we reserved a spot online for the campsite. If you do a search for "Wyoming State Parks", you can get to a site with more info about securing a site and seasons. Hope this helps!
