Regence, like most other health insurance in the US is awful. They deny procedures that medical professionals who have actually examined you state you need. At patient expense they say to go to physical therapy first. Hundreds of dollars later, same predicament and could have paid for the procedure out of pocket for cheaper and in faster time frame. All they care about is money not human beings getting the medical attention they need to lie quality lives.

A symbol of everything that is wrong in the American health system! I take an over the counter medicine that costs $36 per month on Amazon. My doctor told me I could use the insurance for that and the price would drop to $15. So I did that. To my surprised I got a bill for $445!!!! I was told that the medicine coverage was rejected by the insurance because they disagreed with my doctor and believed I could take a cheaper medicine. Even setting aside the ridiculousness of my insurance provider disagreeing with my doctor. How on hell a medicine that I can literally get over the counter goes from $36 to $445 because I tried to use my insurance? Never use this insurance...

I have been working on my insurance enrollment process for weeks and spent a total of about 8 hours on the phone with Regence BCBS enrollment and customer service reps. I read through each of the plan options, looked up my doctors in their online "Find a Doctor" portal, and did a lot of leg work before ever calling and yet even the simplest of questions (Is my doctor in network under this plan/network? Are office visits covered?) are met with completely different answers depending on who I speak with. The representatives as polite, but they have no clue how to navigate through a customer call or answer basic questions about plan offerings. I have spoked with competitors of Regence over the past month who succinctly answer these questions with zero issues. It is certainly a turn-off to see this level of incompetence when shopping for a provider.

I've tried for over a week to get my specialty prescription filled at either Accredo or AllianceRx Walgreens Prime and after calling Regence to get their assistance with getting this Rx shipped out before I'm due for my next scheduled dose (tomorrow) all they have done is call Walgreens or Accredo while I'm on the line and then once we're connected they ask to leave the conversation. I spent over 3 hrs today alone calling one pharmacy then the other and also my doctor's office (all multiple times!) trying to get this prescription filled. Here I sit with no answer at the end of the day. Regence did nothing to make things faster, easier or seen through to completion. I'm ready to STOP the specialty medication altogether after this latest fiasco, which I'm very much aware could have dire results. This runaround today was RIDICULOUS. So much so, I've decided NOT to make even 1 more call to anyone regarding this medication. If someone calls me with an update with an order status or my doctor's office calls to confirm having spoken to a pharmacist, then fine. Otherwise I'm done!

Call customer service at 800-541-8981. They would be happy to help get that information to you! If for tax purposes dont forget to ask for your claim and prescription out of pocket as well.
Regency will be. Because a Medicare adv plan is a replacement plan
The best way to find out who is in network is to call customer service. They have quick access to that information. You may also want to down load Joirni this app can be down loaded on any smart device.
How to replace a lost card?
Sorry to hear about your mothers condition. You should call the customer service number in the back of her card. They will be able to give you the most accurate answer according to her plan.
