Christine did a wonderful job altering this frothy, appliqué heavy dress for my wedding! I’m fairly short at only 5’1”, so she needed to significantly hem and shorten my straps and bring the bust cups down an inch. She also added a 3-point bustle for my reception and let me try on all sorts of bustle options before making it happen. Many of the appliqués at the bottom edge of the top layer were unfortunately sewn in incredibly tightly with nearly invisible thread. A significant amount of appliqués needed to be moved or removed, due to my short height. Rather than risk tearing the delicate material by attempting to remove the appliqués and then re-stitch them to the top layer once the dress was hemmed, Christine suggested to cut the excess fabric and appliqués away in an aesthetically pleasing but functional manner. This was not a simple process— we actually dubbed it “dress surgery.” It turned out great! Plus I got to use the leftover lace appliqués to decorate my wedding shoes. Christine was prompt at replying, upfront about costs, and made sure I was happy with my dress before turning it over to me. Thank you so much!

I got my wedding dress altered by Christine and I’m so happy that I did! Christine was great to work with: she shortened my straps, added bra cups, shortened the dress, and added a bustle. She was responsive and upfront in what the cost would be throughout the process. I felt like she really listened to what my day-of needs would be and didn’t try to pressure me to make alterations that I wasn’t happy with. As an example I’m an avid folk dancer and knew that I would need the flexibility to be able to dance without worrying about my dress ripping or being uncomfortable. When she did the bustle, she made sure to make two loops for each button to go through, in case one of them ripped. That extra security really helped me to be confident on the dance floor. The whole wedding day, everyone was commenting on how well the dress fit me. I was so happy with the job she did on my wedding dress, I ended up taking an old bridesmaid dress to her to make it more wearable for events (moved the straps and shortened it). I recently wore the old bridesmaid dress to another wedding and got so many compliments on it. I would recommend Christine to anyone who is looking to get alterations done! Christine's Alterations is one of the best places to get alterations done. I called her wanting to get my wedding dress altered for my August wedding and she was highly responsive, kind, and upfront about costs and time. Christine walked me though everything she was going to change on the dress, why, and what it would look like after. She even added a bustle to keep the dress's train from trailing on the ground. She finished the alterations quickly and the dress was absolutely perfect! I would highly recommend her services for any alterations you would like done.
