Great to work with; true professionals. Helped our family get through something scary and seemingly insurmountable. Ex Parte Restraining Order was unrightfully filed against us, as were unfounded claims in an attempt to leverage support against us. The other party had family representing them. We were afraid to take on a matter against someone with, presumably, free representation. Our initial consultation put us at ease and I am very grateful I decided to use Pacific Northwest Family Law's services. Rebecca and Denise did an outstanding job at tackling our case. We came out untarnished and cannot ask for more. They did a great job keeping us informed and involved. They could not have given us better results and were very efficient with our time/money. Would highly recommend their services to a friend.

Olaf Hansen... Will not return phone calls or emails. A joke of an attorney. His paralegal Rebecca is just like him. I have went weeks for a response Ffback from them. I fired Olaf Hansen and Rebecca Oetter on 2/9/2022 the worse attorney paralegal team in the Northwest. Now it is March and thought for sure by now the remainder of my retainer fee would and should have been refunded to me but no so I called and now the process has started but instead of dealing with a professional establishment that would have taken care of that I once again was ignored. Horrible service. I recommend any law firm but this one that ignores there clients. Who is in charge here? Dont find out look elsewhere.

Olaf (Lawyer) and Casey his paralegal are truthfully the best team we could have asked for!! They are open, honest and make you feel comfortable with your case, may it be good or bad! Olaf really takes time to explain what happens in terms we can understand . He is a good hearted individual too, and that’s hard to find in a lawyer! He cares more than any lawyer we have had! Casey and Olaf both respond quickly to emails, which is such a blessing , because going through court is so hard anyways , your emotions are running and you want answers quick. Even though we understand they have other clients , they never make us feel like our evidence or questions are wasting their time. The one thing I really like about Olaf’s mind set is he never gets our hopes up. He is real and will be honest with you. And that’s what you need in a lawyer, someone who is going to fight hard , but will not guarantee he can get you exactly what you want. Because then if it doesn’t happen your hopes aren’t crushed . Always keeping mindset “think the worse, hope for the best” family court is not the place everyone sees themselves , but if you are really having to go , you need to choose Olaf and Casey at Pacific Northwest Family law , because they will make you feel comfortable, and try the best for you. They are genuinely good people, who want the best for the situation!

Questions & Answers

How much child support do I have to pay?

Pacific Northwest Family Law | Aug 21, 2019
Pacific Northwest Family Law | Aug 21, 2019

This is hard to answer without more information. The amount of child support is set by the state. You can calculate the standard amount by filling our the Child Support Worksheets and following all directions. You can get the standard forms to do that yourself from the Washington Courts website: http://www.courts.wa.gov/forms/?fa=forms.static&staticID=14#FamLawForms But there are other factors involved. For example, you may qualify for a different amount if you have significant time with your child, if you have other children, or you have extraordinary involuntary debts (such as medical bills from an unexpected illness). If you have unusual circumstances, come talk to us today.

Do you charge for every minute I talk to you?

Pacific Northwest Family Law | Aug 21, 2019

For our flat fee clients, communication is part of the flat fee. So no. For our hourly rate clients, we charge for the time we spend on you case. So we do have to charge for things like phone calls and emails. However, if you have a question about things like an invoice, we do not charge for time spent.

Can I still talk to my husband or wife after I've filed for divorce?

Pacific Northwest Family Law | Aug 21, 2019
Pacific Northwest Family Law | Aug 21, 2019

In most circumstances, the answer is YES. If there is a restraining order or domestic violence protection order, NO. We find that most people are able to reach an agreement quicker if they communicate. Sometimes, they need attorneys to help them do so and sometimes you need some extra training because, let's face it, the inability to communicate is usually a factor in the divorce in the first place. And, if you have children, you will be expected to talk to each other even after the whole process is over to coparent your children.

Does it matter if I file for divorce first?

Pacific Northwest Family Law | Aug 21, 2019
Pacific Northwest Family Law | Aug 21, 2019

Sometimes. Sorry, but there are a lot of factors at play. In most circumstances, it does not matter who files first. There may be some psychological victory by doing so, but a judge does not care. However, if you need protection or the court to help you out to get child support, spousal support, or a parenting plan the sooner you file, the better.

How long will my divorce take?

Pacific Northwest Family Law | Aug 21, 2019
Pacific Northwest Family Law | Aug 21, 2019

This can be a little tricky. The shortest for a divorce to go from filing to final orders is 90 days. But the work behind the divorce can be shorter or longer depending on the facts behind it. Every divorce ends in one of three ways: 1) the parties reconcile, 2) the parties reach an agreement on everything, 3) the parties go to trial and a judge makes a decision on all issues after considering all the facts.

We are a little hard to find. We are in the building with Moriss & Moriss P.S. on the side. We should have our sign up soon and make it easier to find. But for now that's how you can find us.
